Good Morning,

Thank you to all our families for your support in helping us to make dismissal safer for our students. The consensus from staff and families is that door #7 is successful for all!

As you know, we are in a shared building with WPS Administration, Weymouth Coordinated Family and Community Engagement Center and Adams Academy. We kindly ask our WECC families and students to avoid the front windows of the school building, as the Adams Academy students are actively engaged in their learning, which begins each morning at 7:30 a.m. The students enjoy seeing our preK children's faces in the windows, but it is a distraction during school time.

This week the students celebrated Red Day with drawings, paintings, clothing, and other assorted fun activities. Enjoy the pictures below.

WECC School Council:

We are looking for School Council members. If you are interested in being a part of our school council please send me an email to let me know of your interest.

What is School Council?

There are four major areas of responsibility for school councils.

  1. Adopting educational goals for the school that are consistent with local educational policies and statewide student performance standards

  2. Identifying the educational needs of students attending the school

  3. Reviewing the annual school building budget

  4. Formulating a school improvement plan

Playground:

The wood chips have been delivered! The new playground equipment is expected to arrive within the next few weeks. How exciting!!

Safety:

We ask that parents, guardians or anyone you place on your child's pick up list have a picture ID with them. As we get to know our families and caregivers, we may ask for an ID, to verify our caregivers..

Tuition:

The Lockbox for dropping off tuition is now at door #7. No CASH should be placed into this box. Please do not use the one at the front of the building where the administration office is. Remember to put your child's name in the memo section of your check.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Mrs. Perez, Principal

Mrs. MacKay, Vice Principal

I'm a Super Reader

Help us reach our goal of 10,000 books

One of the most important gifts we can give our children is to help them learn to read and write so that they can succeed in school and beyond. Confident, active readers are able to use their reading skills to follow their passions and curiosity about the world. We all read for a purpose: to be entertained, to take a journey of the imagination, to connect with others, to figure out how to do something, and to learn about history, science, the arts, and everything else.

We hope to foster the love of reading in our students. Please help us by helping your child read each day. Attached is a reading chart that your child can color each time they read a book. Bring the reading chart to school once all apples are colored and your child will receive a Super Reader sticker. You may choose to only read 10 books per month or submit as many reading charts as you want. We will be keeping track by classroom. If JECC students reach the goal of 10,000 books, we will have a Bubble party at the end of the year.

Help our students reach their goal!
