Immunization Reminder
Dear Parents and Guardians,
As a reminder, all students entering 7th grade are required by law to have the following immunizations completed before the first day of school:
Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis)
Meningococcal (Meningitis)
Proof of these immunizations must be submitted to the school nurse prior to the first day of classes, 08/20/2026.
Students who do not have proof of these immunizations on file may not be allowed to start school until the requirement is met. Please contact your child’s healthcare provider as soon as possible to ensure these vaccinations are up to date. You may also contact the school nurse via email at amanda.dagostino@k12.wv.us if you have questions and can't reach your provider.
If they are not up to date you may call:
- Your student's physician
- local pharmacies such as CVS, Walgreens, Spring Mills Pharmacy, and/or Target Pharmacy
- local Health Departments: Berkeley, Jefferson, Morgan, and/or Washington County MD
Thank you for your attention to this important matter and for helping us keep our school community safe and healthy.

Emily Harlow Recognized
Spring Mills Middle School would like to recognize 8th grade clarinet student Emily Harlow for her outstanding accomplishments this past weekend with the Spring Mills High School Marching Band at the 84th Annual Strawberry Festival in Buckhannon, West Virginia.
Emily, a student under the direction of Mr. Jordan English, had the unique opportunity during her 8th grade year to perform with the Spring Mills High School Marching Band under the direction of Mr. Lee Cheek. The band traveled to Buckhannon to compete against outstanding ensembles from across the United States and internationally, including groups from Mississippi, Pennsylvania, Italy, Washington, D.C., and throughout West Virginia.
The Spring Mills High School band program earned impressive results throughout the festival:
- Symphonic Band – 3rd Place
- Drumline – 3rd Place
- Marching Parade Competition – 6th Place out of 20 bands
- Marching Field Show – 1st Place
When all event scores were combined, Spring Mills High School earned 2nd Place Overall for the festival.
In addition, because of their 1st Place Field Show performance, the Spring Mills High School Marching Band has now been invited to participate in the 2027 World Championships in Ireland, an incredible honor and opportunity for the program.
Mr. English shared that he is extremely proud of Emily and the entire Spring Mills High School Marching Band for their dedication, hard work, and accomplishments throughout the weekend. Congratulations to Emily and all involved on representing Spring Mills with excellence!
