Principal's Message
Keeping it Real
Dear SJHS Families,
As we settle into the rhythm of the new school year, I want to “keep it real” with our families about how things are truly going — the good, the challenging, and everything in between. SJHS is a place full of learning, laughter, activities, and energy, and these first three weeks have reminded me again why this community is so special.
We have had some real moments already. Losing our Math Department Chair/Geometry Teacher/NHS Advisor just two weeks before school started was tough. But in true SJHS fashion, our staff rallied, stepped up, and worked together to make sure students were supported and learning continued without interruption. That kind of teamwork is what “keeping it real” looks like in a school community.
We have also navigated typical early‑semester challenges — discipline issues, schedule changes, and helping a few students realize that in‑person school wasn’t the right fit for them. At the same time, we’ve accomplished meaningful things: professional development, student assessments and placements, coaching cycles, and welcoming new staff who are already strengthening our campus culture.
This is the real work of high school: showing up, learning from challenges, celebrating growth, and supporting one another. And our students have already shown so much heart — from filling the halls with laughter and activity to representing SJHS at the Apache County Fair with pride and hard work.
Thank you for helping us begin the year on such a positive note. Let’s continue being real, working together, and making every day count.
With appreciation,
Mrs. Mo
