We’re excited to announce that Cinema One Plus in Washington has been reserved for our MAP Reward Celebration. Two theaters will be showing age-appropriate movies for our students.
A Special Message for Our K–2 Students
Our K–2 crew has an important job during testing week as well! It’s vital that they:
-
Arrive on time each morning.
-
Move quietly in the hallways.
-
Help maintain a calm, focused environment for our older students.
Their teachers have also reviewed a reward rubric with them, and those who follow expectations will earn a celebration too!

Last Day
Farewell
As you may know, Mrs. Shockley will not be returning next school year. She is beginning an exciting new adventure—opening an in-home daycare so she can spend more time with her adorable daughter, June. We are incredibly grateful for the 7 years she has spent with us. Her husband, Conner Shockley, will also be leaving at the end of May to pursue a new business venture with his brother. We wish the Shockleys all the best as they embark on these new journeys!
The end of the school year is bittersweet for me. There have been many "lasts" throughout the year, and while retirement is certainly exciting, it will be hard to step away from a place I have dedicated so many years to. I’m looking forward to seeing many of you on May 18th, and I also plan to attend some baseball and softball games this summer—I’ll still be around!
Thank you for the love and support this district has given me since the 90s… yes, the 90s! Franklin County R-II is a truly special place, and I will be forever grateful to have spent my entire career here.
New Faces
Staff Updates for the 2025–2026 School Year
We’re excited to welcome some new faces and announce a few changes for the upcoming school year!
-
Mrs. Schultz, who joined us in November as our PAT educator, will be returning in that role. She has spent this year training and getting acclimated to our district, and we’re thrilled to have her continue supporting our families.
-
Miss Coleen Clifton will be joining us to fill the open music and band position. We look forward to the energy and talent she will bring to our music program.
-
Mrs. Hischier will be stepping into the role of 2nd grade teacher for next year.
We also have a few grade-level changes among our current staff:
-
Miss Pate will be moving to 3rd grade, and
-
Miss Hoerstkamp will be moving to 4th grade.
Both teachers will remain in their current classrooms and simply switch grade levels.
In line with this shift, Mrs. Freitag’s classroom will become the new 2nd grade room for the 2025–2026 school year.
