Saturday, February 3rd

• TCGC Pieper Winter Guard Competition, approximate Call Time 8 am and Return Time 9 pm, final itinerary will be released on Thursday

The Region Jazz Band Clinic and Concert is Tuesday, January 30th at Davenport HS. Students will wear concert black. Region jazz band students need to bring their concert black to school with them on Tuesday. Please look at the attached letter for more information.

Students will need to have a plan for lunch and dinner. Students may check themselves out for lunch with an email to Alexis Granzin (alexis.granzin@comalisd.org) or Diane Van Haaren (diane.vanhaaren@comalisd.org). Students may only drive themselves.

We are having our second annual Casino Night fundraiser on February 24th. We are looking for donations for silent auction items. Please email Mr. Keyes (jeffrey.keyes@comalisd.org) or Mr. Lachance (chrislachance@live.com) if you have a donation or any leads.

We are hosting the UIL Solo and Ensemble Contest on February 17th. Students that earn a 1st division rating on a solo or ensemble will earn a letter jacket if they have not already done so. Students that play a Class 1 solo (from memory) or and Class 1 ensemble and earn a 1st division rating will advance to the Texas State Solo and Ensemble Contest at the end of May in Austin, TX. These state qualifiers will have their picture added to our wall of fame in the band hall.

All ensembles and percussion solos will perform at the Solo and Ensemble Recital on February 12th.

All ensembles will also be performing at the Casino Night on February 24th in the evening.

All students playing a solo are required to play with a piano accompanist. The cost for our accompanist is $65. This includes two rehearsals and the performance. This is the same rate and accompanist as last year. Piano accompanist fees are due the week of January 29th - cash or check payable to Davenport Band Boosters.
