๐พ ILEARN Testing at JCMS: Letโs Unlock Our Potential! ๐โจ
This week we are starting the Computer Adapted Test (CAT) English-Language Arts ILEARN Assessment! We were excited to see the hard work and effort students were making last week as they are completing the CAT Math Test, and are excited to see the effort students put into the next round of testing!
JCMS will follow the alternative testing schedule Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
Here are some reminders as you are preparing for testing this week!
We know that strong routines at home can make a big impact during testing season. Families can support students by helping them:
๐น Get a good nightโs sleep each evening ๐ด
๐น Eat a healthy breakfast before school ๐
๐น Arrive on time and ready to go โฐ
๐น Bring a fully charged Chromebook each day ๐
Letโs go, Panthers! ๐พ
๐พ Midterms ๐พ
Midterms were last Friday for Jennings County Schools. Midterms will be made available in Skyward on Wednesday. Students - remember that the midterm is to inform you and your parents/guardians where you currently are at in your classes. There's still time to make a change and improve your grades.
Make the next 19 school days count!
๐พ Dress Code Reminders ๐พ
As we move into the spring season, weโre starting to see warmer temperatures and more time spent outdoors โ๏ธ๐ฟ With that change in weather, we want to take a moment to remind everyone about our school dress code expectations.
While we know students are excited to break out their spring wardrobe, itโs important that clothing remains appropriate for the school environment. Outfits should continue to follow school guidelines, ensuring that all students are dressed in a way that is respectful, comfortable, and ready for learning.
Spring is always a great time of year at JCMS, and we appreciate families helping us reinforce these expectations. By working together, we can keep the focus where it belongs on learning, growth, and finishing the school year strong ๐ช๐พ
๐พ JCSC Staff Appreciation Week is Next Week! ๐พ
Staff Appreciation Week is right around the corner, and weโre excited to celebrate the incredible faculty and staff members who make a difference at JCMS every single day! ๐พ๐
One of the best ways to show that appreciation is by hearing directly from our families. Next week, families will have the opportunity to recognize a teacher who has made a positive impact on their studentโs experience. Whether itโs a kind word, extra support, or going the extra mile, those moments matterโand they deserve to be celebrated.
Weโve made it simple by providing a quick Google Form where families can submit their recognition. These messages will be shared with staff throughout the week as a reminder of the meaningful work they do each day. Families can choose to recognize any member of the JCMS Team!
We encourage all families to take a moment to participate. A few words of appreciation can go a long way in lifting someone up and reinforcing the strong connections that make our school community so special.

Use your passing period time wisely!
๐พ Save the Date: 8th Grade Celebration - May 1st, 2026 ๐พ
On Friday, May 1st, JCMS will be celebrating the 8th grade class with an event called 8th Grade Glow Night! This will be a casual, memorable event for our 8th graders!
The event will take place this Friday, May 1st starting at 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Students should be picked up promptly at 8:00 PM. There will be pizza, desserts, and the concession stand will also be open for purchases. There will be games, dancing, a photo booth, and lots of other memory-building experiences with classmates. Students are encouraged to wear neon colors or something that will glow under a blacklight. Just remember that the school dress code still applies!
Come and enjoy the fun!
A couple of reminders:
- Students must be in attendance for the school day to be able to attend.
- Discipline issues can affect a student being able to attend.
Parents/Guardians:
If you would like to volunteer to assist that evening, please reach out to Mrs. Garrett, Mr. Rigby, or Ms. VanLandeghem!
