Dear CJHS Community,

This week marks the beginning of the 2nd 6 weeks! Report Cards will go out Thursday. You can also access their report card on Parent Portal. If your child is an athlete and fails a class, they will be ineligible to play. However, after 3 weeks - if they are passing, they can play! Please contact us if you have questions regarding UIL eligibility!

Each month, students and staff are nominated for "Star of the Month". In the pic below you can find our September Stars of the Month! Congratulations!!

Basketball Schedules

I've added basketball schedules below! Please know these are subject to change! Always check Sports You for the most accurate dates and times. If you notice an error, always contact me and I will work to update it!

⭐️Eyes on the Stars—Feet in the Classroom!📚

At Childress Junior High, we’re setting big goals and keeping our Eyes on the Stars—but it all starts with being present and ready to learn each day.

September is Attendance Awareness Month, and it’s the perfect time to build strong routines that help our Bobcats succeed. Whether it’s finishing homework, getting to bed on time, or arriving before the bell—small habits make a big difference!

🚨Why Attendance Matters🚨

Missing just 2 days a month means missing 10% of the school year.
Students with good attendance are more likely to earn better grades and stay on track for high school and beyond.
Consistent attendance helps build strong relationships and a sense of belonging at school.

🥾Feet on the Ground: Action Steps for Families

Set a regular bedtime and morning routine.
Schedule appointments after school when possible.
Avoid early check-outs and late drop-offs.
Contact our office when your student must be absent—we’re here to help!

🎯Let’s Reach for the Stars—Together!

Our goal is for every student to miss no more than 5 days this school year. Thank you for helping us make attendance a priority. When our Bobcats show up, they shine! 🌟
