Every Panda, Every Day Every Panda, Every Day

Daily and consistent attendance matters each and every day. Take a look at the graphic below to show how minutes add up to days over the course of a year. For the vast majority of our grades, the most important learning of the day is right at the start of the day when our students are at their best!

The attendance rate for October was 95.36%. 5th grade lead the way in October with students being at school 96.74% of the time.

Referendum Information: Your Vote Matters Referendum Information: Your Vote Matters

Dear WUSD Community,

Election Day is tomorrow, Tuesday, November 3, and we want to remind our community that an operational referendum question will appear on the ballot for Whitewater Unified School District voters.

If approved, the referendum would authorize WUSD to exceed its state-imposed revenue limit by $5.5 million annually for four years, beginning in the 2027-28 school year and ending after the 2030-31 school year. This would replace the district’s current $4.4 million operational referendum authority, which expires at the end of the 2026-27 school year.

The proposed funding would help maintain student programs, support services, staffing, and other day-to-day operations.

The district continues to face financial challenges as operating costs rise and state funding has not kept pace with expenses. Without additional referendum funding, WUSD projects a budget deficit of approximately $6.9 million for the 2027-28 school year.

An approved referendum would increase the school district’s mill rate by approximately an additional 40 cents per $1,000 of assessed property value—or about $120 per year for a home valued at $300,000.

Polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 3. Wisconsin voters can find their assigned polling location and voting information on the MyVote Wisconsin website. Voters should also remember to bring an acceptable photo ID.

For more information about the operational referendum, including the proposed funding and estimated property tax impact, we encourage you to visit our referendum website.

Thank you for taking the time to learn about the operational referendum and stay informed ahead of the election.

Sincerely,

Samuel Karns

Superintendent
