Fall Athletics
Fall sports were in action this past week. Below are a few pics....
The Fall Dance
Our annual Fall Dance will be held on October 17. Tickets will be sold on October 15-16 during student lunches. The dance is an outdoor event (unless weather pushes us into the gym). Students should dress for the weather. How to dress? There is a pretty wide spectrum of outfits. Some students dress like they are going to prom, some wear Halloween outfits, and others dress like they are going to school like any other day. We are ok with it all, just be appropriate and dressed for the weather in case it is chilly at night!
This is a highly attended event, and we STRONGLY ENCOURAGE CARPOOLING!!!!!
We've included the Fall Dance permission slip below; we will also distribute them to students on 10/13.

8th Grade Science
Over the past few weeks, we’ve been diving into the OpenSciEd Contact Forces unit. This unit has sparked a lot of curiosity and hands-on engagement as students explore how forces interact between objects through contact.
Here’s what we’ve been up to:
Phenomena-Based Learning: We began with a real-world scenario involving a cart that moves unexpectedly when pushed or pulled, and students have been investigating to figure out why.
Hands-On Investigations: Students have conducted experiments using spring scales, rubber bands, and other materials to explore how the strength and direction of contact forces affect motion.
Modeling & Discussions: Learners have been developing and revising force diagrams to represent their ideas. Our class discussions have been full of thoughtful questions and peer-to-peer explanations.
Evidence-Based Reasoning: Students are learning to support their claims with evidence from investigations, helping them think and write like scientists.
