5 Essentials Survey - Please Complete!
The annual Illinois 5Essentials Survey is now open and available for families through March 13, 2026. Fremd High School encourages you to participate. Your input will help guide our school’s improvement efforts. The survey assesses the following five components of success:
Effective leaders
Collaborative teachers
Involved families
Supportive environment
Ambitious instruction
The survey is in English and Spanish at http://survey.5-essentials.org/illinois/survey/parent/.
We highly encourage you to participate in this short survey. Note all parents or legal guardians are able to take one survey for every student you have enrolled in our schools.
It is administered by UChicago Impact at the University of Chicago on behalf of the Illinois State Board of Education. It is important to us that each student’s family complete this survey, as we are then provided helpful information and feedback for improvement.
If you have questions or concerns, please contact our school’s survey coordinator, Assistant Principal Scott Newmark at 847-755-2618.
Thank you!

Phishing Email Awareness
We want to make families aware that students continue to receive phishing emails in their D211 accounts. These messages often offer jobs or money, make urgent requests, or provide links asking for personal information. We encourage students not to click links or share passwords and to report anything suspicious right away. The district continues to monitor and remove these messages, and we appreciate your partnership in helping keep student accounts and information secure. Please contact the Fremd Technology department for additional information.
A Note From Our School Resource Officer:
The 2026 Safer Internet Day focus is Exploitation Awareness
The public awareness working group within the Cook County Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) taskforce has put together a number of items to assist with Safer Internet Day campaigns. I have several different handouts focused on general information handouts, to those more focused towards athletics based awareness or staff smart cards for recognizing suspicious activity or “flags” displayed by victims of online exploitation. Feel free to come speak with me and see what I can offer in terms of training materials or presentations. Some items include:
Exploitation Awareness Postcard (PDF format)
Online Threats & Youth Teams: What Coaches Need to Know (One-Pager PDF)
Helping Youth Navigate Online Sextortion & Exploitation (PDF)
Fremd Distinguished Graduate Nomination
Each year in April, the Honors Convocation at Fremd High School celebrates the accomplishments of an outstanding alumnus.
This award honors a Fremd graduate who has excelled in their profession and made meaningful philanthropic contributions to their community, serving as an inspiring role model for current students.
Nominees must have graduated at least 10 years ago, demonstrated significant achievements in their field, and shown exemplary leadership, character, and community service. Parents, staff, retired staff, and other members of the community are encouraged to submit nominations, including self-nominations.
Help us find our 2026 Distinguished Alumni by completing this Google form by February 28th. Have more than one nomination? No problem—feel free to submit the form as many times as you'd like!
