Parent-Teacher Conferences are this Thursday, Feb. 19!
This is a valuable opportunity for families to connect one-on-one with teachers, review academic progress, discuss strengths and areas for growth, and ask questions about classroom learning. These conversations help build strong school-home partnerships that support student success.
While students are on Mid-Winter Break, we encourage parents and guardians to take advantage of this time to stay informed and engaged in their child’s educational journey.

Every day truly counts in Spring ISD! 🌟
When students are in class, they stay connected, confident and ready to learn. Missing even one day before Winter break can set students back, as new material is still being taught. Let’s finish the year strong—together in culture, together in accountability. 💛
¡Cada día realmente cuenta en Spring ISD! 🌟

Texas House Bill 1481
Spring ISD has updated its Student Personal Communication Device Policy, allowing only specified exceptions for device use during instructional hours, with escalating consequences for violations.
Dear Spring ISD Families,
We want to make you aware of an important update to our Student Personal Communication Device Policy, taking effect in the 2025–26 school year. In alignment with Texas House Bill 1481, students will no longer be permitted to use or display personal devices such as cell phones, smartwatches, earbuds, tablets, or personal laptops during the instructional day.
While students may bring these devices to school, they must remain off, out of sight, and securely stored from the first bell to the last bell—including during lunch, passing periods, and restroom breaks.
This policy supports a focused learning environment and applies to all students across grade levels. Violations will result in escalating consequences, including parent pick-up of the device, in-school suspension (ISS), and potential placement in an alternative program for repeated offenses.
Exceptions may be made only in the following cases:
A documented medical condition
Requirements in an IEP or 504 Plan
A verified emergency situation
If your child needs to contact you during the day, they should visit the front office for assistance.
You can find the full policy, including FAQs and consequences by grade level, here:
We appreciate your partnership as we implement this state-required policy and continue putting student learning and safety first.
Sincerely,
Spring ISD

Important Details
ID Badges
Every student is required to wear an ID badge daily. This is a district mandated policy. The badges will be provided to scholars during their first week. They must be kept on at all times, so please start informing your child of this now. These same badges will be used to enter and exit the bus daily.
Morning Drop-Off and Afternoon Pick-up
The safety of our students is of the utmost importance to all teachers and staff members at Meyer Elementary. Please read the drop-off and pick-up procedures listed below. In order to ensure our student’s safety, it is critical that we all work together to follow the guidelines listed below. When dropping off or picking up your child, please make sure that you are mindful of no parking areas and designated walker areas.
The morning and afternoon drop off/ pick-up area for car riders is located at the side of Meyer Elementary. All car rider traffic must go through the car rider line. You will be issued a Meyer Elementary car rider sign, at Meet the Teacher, to place in your window. Please ensure you have this sign daily for pickup. If someone other than the normal pickup person needs to pick up your child, please DO NOT give them your car rider tag. For student safety, they will need to come to the front office and verify they have permission to pick up the child.
Students MAY NOT be dropped off before 7:35am. Students MUST remain in the car until the doors open at 7:35 a.m. If you need to drop your student off before 7:35 a.m., Koala Kare is available in the morning.
During afternoon pickup, do not get out of your vehicle as you are waiting in the car rider line. This causes traffic to become congested in the line and it is not safe for students. Please remember scholars will be brought to the front office between 3:45 and 3:50. Parents, you will then be expected to come to the front office with your car rider tag or your I.D. ALL STUDENTS MUST BE PICKED UP BY 4:00 p.m.
SISD buses and Licensed Day Care buses will load and unload students in the parking lot and the front of the building. Cars may not drop off or pick up students in this area.
Walkers - Parents will need to come to the side of the building, by the cafeteria, for walkers. Parents may wait for their children on the sidewalk and escort them home or they may travel with their older sibling. Parents will have to present walker tags with their child’s name on it for a scholar to be released. If you come to pick up your child without a tag, you will have to present your identification at the front office. Walker tags will be provided at Meet-the Teacher.
Parents of Pre-K and Kindergarten scholars must have a code to receive your child from the bus. This code ill be given to you by your child’s homeroom teacher. The bus drivers will not release your child without the proper number being given. If an older sibling will be taking the child from the bus, make sure they know the code.

This policy is in place to maintain a safe and respectful learning environment for all students. We appreciate your support in reinforcing this expectation with your child.
Thanks,
W. Guerrero
Estimadas familias,
Gracias,
W. Guerrero
