Hello Trailblazers!
10.30.2026
Dear Discovery Families,
This week at Discovery, our students showed just how much we can learn from one another! Our fifth graders led the way at our school assembly, teaching us about perseverance and encouraging everyone to “keep climbing” at Perseverance Peak. We also celebrated our first group of Trailblazer Ambassadors, recognizing students who have already earned five Trailblazer tickets!
Mrs. Shannon recognized more than 150 students who have completed the Elba Division 1 books, with some students already completing Divisions 2 and 3. We are proud of the effort and determination our readers continue to show.
There was even more to celebrate as students filled our pom jar and earned their Schoolwide PBIS incentive, a game day! This celebration recognized our students’ collective efforts to make positive choices and contribute to our school community.
Our Student Council members also put kindness into action through Curbside Cocoa. If a student knocked on your car window in the morning drop-off lane, you may have received a warm treat and a cheerful greeting. What a wonderful way to brighten someone’s day! Special thanks to Mrs. Peters and Mrs. Marshik for their leadership in helping our Student Council bring these important events to life.

Discovery Behavior Tracking
Using our new Infinite Campus system, all elementary schools will track student behaviors. Below is an explanation of how we will track minor and major behaviors and how we will have a designated teaching time each Friday to meet with student's with multiple behavior reminders.
Holiday Assistance & Community Resources
Oops Happens!
Spills, mud, accidents, and unexpected messes happen! Please send a spare set of clothes in your child’s backpack to keep at school. A shirt, pants/shorts, underwear, and socks can make all the difference when little mishaps happen!
Nut Free!
Our school is a nut-free facility to help keep all students safe. Please be sure that any snacks or lunches sent with your child do not contain nuts or nut products.
Birthday Treats Reminder
To help keep all of our students safe, our school district does not allow birthday treats or food items to be brought in due to allergies. We love celebrating students, and non-food items like trinkets, small toys, pencils, or other fun items are always welcome. Thank you for helping us keep everyone safe!
