This Friday, April 24, will be an asynchronous learning day. This means that students will stay at home and will be expected to complete assignments as designated by their classroom teacher.

• Student devices will be sent home the day prior for students to use for asynchronous learning purposes only.
• Students who do not attempt the assignments or activities assigned by their teacher will be marked absent.
• All devices must be returned to school on the following school day, Tuesday, April 28.
• All teachers will have office hours from 9:30am to 11:30am on April 24 to answer any questions students may have.

There is no school for students on Monday, April 27. Please remember to send student devices back with students on Tuesday!

Join other Cedar Island Families and PTO for a FAMILY FUN NIGHT at the MN Twins game! This is a FAMILY event, not a field trip. All children must be accompanied by and adult.

Tickets are $12 each and will be in Sections 313 & 314.

Tickets must be purchased by Tuesday, April 22. We cannot accommodate late registrations. Tickets will be sent home with your oldest child approximately one week before the game.

Staff Appreciation Week is coming (May 4 - 8) and we want to make it extra special for our incredible Cedar Island staff! Here's how you can get involved with what our PTO has planned:

• Complete a "thank you" card: You’ll see two “thank you” cards come home with your student(s) this week. Please fill them out—one for your child’s homeroom teacher and one for another staff member who means a lot to your family — and return by Thursday, April 30. Share what makes them special, a favorite memory, or whatever is on your heart!
• Make a donation: We’re collecting donations of drinks (sparkling water and soda), handheld treats (cookies, brownies, etc.), or monetary donations to help cover the week’s events. Every little bit helps us make this possible!
• If you'd like to donate food or drink, please contact Ashley Funke (awisnie2@gmail.com) to coordinate.
• If you'd like to make a monetary donation, please send cash or check (made out to Cedar Island PTO) with your child in an envelope labeled "Staff appreciation week." This will be safely collected in your child's class along with the thank you cards.
• Volunteer: If you have the bandwidth to help set up/clean up on Monday, Wednesday or Friday the week of May 4, we would welcome the support! Please contact Ashley Funke (awisnie2@gmail.com) with your availability.

Our staff gives so much to our students and families every day. With your help, we can show them just how much they are loved.

Cedar Island's Parent Teacher Organization (PTO)

As we begin planning for next year’s classroom placements, we carefully consider many factors to create balanced classrooms that best support all students.

If there is information you would like to share about your child’s placement, please complete the optional form below by this Friday, April 24. Please note that information shared in previous years is not carried over, so a new form must be completed each year.

We kindly ask that you do not request specific teachers, as we are unable to accommodate individual teacher requests.

Final classroom placements will be available in ParentVUE at the end of August, just prior to Open House.

Please complete one form per child.

Great news! Every student will receive a FREE yearbook this year! Kemmetmueller Photography will be providing one book for every student pic. The books were designed by parent volunteers and will be distributed to students during the last week of school.

To ensure the safety and security of all students and staff, the following visitor procedures are in place:

• During student arrival and dismissal times, parents and visitors are not permitted to enter the building without checking in at the office. Staff will be present to assist students as needed.
• Any time students are present, all visitors must enter through the main office and check in using a valid Driver’s License or government-issued ID.
• Visitors will be issued a badge that must be worn while in the building.
