Weekly Update for St. Patrick's School Community
Walk with Jesus Our Living Hope
September 18, 2020
Dear Families,
Thank you for your support and continued patience with our new protocols. I have enjoyed visiting with the classes and talking to the children outside on the playground. They have shown me so much warmth and it has given me a sense of what our community is really about. I feel really blessed to be here.
Please be assured that the staff has debriefed about the incident of yesterday and will be going over the emergency protocols in our staff meeting next week. Again I have to commend them on how they handled the situation in their classrooms as it unfolded.
***There is an UPDATED version of the Daily Health Check using the latest CDC recommendations, link is below. Please use this daily with your child prior to dropping them off at school.**These do not need to be handed in to the school office.**
Report cards that have not been picked up from June will be sent home today with your child. Please check their backpacks.
Have a great weekend! God bless!
In Christ,
Mrs. Maria Fonseca
What's New?
Week In a Glance
All Students (Gr. 1-7) come in their gym strip. Students will walk on school grounds. Please send a loonie or a twoonie to donate to the Terry Fox Foundation.
Friday- School Mass led by Gr.7:
We will share the link with you next week so you can join us virtually
Reusable Masks
It is encouraging to see so many of our students wearing the masks indoors in the common areas. Our staff is diligent in wearing ours as it is mandatory for staff to wear them in common areas, such as the hallways.
We highly encourage parents to socially distance outside during pick up and to wear masks when distancing is not possible.
Thank you for doing your part in keeping our community safe.
Gym Strip
Due to the changing weather, we are allowing students to come in the following OPTIONAL choices with their gym t-shirts on PE days:
- Plain black sweatpants without any visible logos (no leggings)
- Plain black sweatshirts or hoodies without any visible logos
Temporary Transition Students
Also next week, the teachers will reach out to you with a Zoom link so your child can "meet" their classmates for a short meeting.
Weekly Check Ins
One of the questions was "What was a highlight?"
I want to share some of their darling answers:
- being with my teacher
- recess with my friends
- getting to see my friends again
- my teacher is very nice
- doing math
- going to gym
"It was a great week at school".
