Monday Message from Mr. Gaines

Falcon Family,

Thank you for a successful first week of school! I truly appreciate your patience as the staff worked to monitor and adjust our students' schedules that were incomplete. I am happy to report that all schedule gaps have been filled. Our school counselors will continue to monitor the schedule change request form; however, we are limited on our elective offerings due to our increased enrollment.

Please send all doctor's excuses, parent notes, and any other documentation relating to an absence to Mrs. Sophia Young-Ross at (sophia.ross@fsd1.org). If you wish to speak directly to Mrs. Young-Ross regarding an attendance concern, please call 843-664-8467.

AFTERNOON PICKUP:
1. Cars turning onto East Howe Springs from Irby Street need to make a RIGHT turn into our entrance bordering the Advantage Academy (formerly Career Center). NOTE: NO LEFT TURNS FROM THE MEDIAN AT THIS ENTRANCE.
2. Cars approaching from the opposite direction are asked to form a line in the median to make a LEFT turn into the teacher parking lot in front of the gym. NOTE: NO RIGHT TURNS AT THIS ENTRANCE.
3. All cars will exit via the frontage road and TURN RIGHT upon exiting. NOTE: NO LEFT TURNS.
MORNING DROP OFF:
1. Cars turning onto East Howe Springs from Irby Street need to make a RIGHT turn into our entrance bordering the Advantage Academy (formerly Career Center).
2. Cars approaching from the opposite direction may make a LEFT turn into the teacher parking lot in front of the gym.

Please do not exit your vehicle and walk up to the gym to receive your child. Your child's name will be called as you proceed through the carline.

Southside Middle School has two full-time school nurses on staff to serve our students and staff. The Health Office is located at the end of the 100 Hall.
