Message from Principal Parravano Message from Principal Parravano

Hello South Families!

This year, our district-wide theme is Going for Gold. I want to clarify what that means for me and how we will be shaping conversations around the topic. Going for Gold isn’t about being perfect or even being the best. It’s about setting goals, putting in the work, paying attention to the little things, and continuing to grow. Sometimes growth requires a big adjustment, and sometimes it is one small change that makes a big difference. Most importantly, it’s about showing up each day ready to give our best to ourselves and to one another.

As we get ready for another school year, I have a challenge for our students and families. Sometime during the next 10 days, take five minutes and talk about three things: What is your goal(d)? What is one adjustment you can make to help you get there? Who is on your team?

Your goal(d) doesn't have to be something huge, and your adjustment doesn't have to be either. Sometimes the smallest changes make the biggest difference over time. Will you arrive five minutes earlier, put the phone away while you study, ask one more question, introduce yourself to someone new, attend class every day, or ask for help sooner? Whatever you choose, know that you won't be chasing it alone. There is an entire team at South ready to support you, challenge you, celebrate with you, and help you adjust along the way.

So, Blue Devils, what's your goal(d)?
