Roaring Readers
Parents - Information went home a couple of weeks ago regarding Roaring Readers. Our PTO is helping to bring this program to us. If you have a child in grades K-4, they will need to log 600 minutes of reading in order to receive their Roaring Springs ticket, and 5th graders will need to log 800 minutes. All logs need to be turned into the school no later than March 22nd. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask!

December Review
Kindergarten, 1st Grade, and 2nd Grade- We read the book, "Me First" and talked about the Sand Witch. We learned about taking turns and being polite to classmates, and that it's okay to not always be first!
3rd and 4th Grade- We talked about seeing things from other people's perspectives and how that can improve the way we interact with others around us.
5th Grade- We discussed conversation skills. We talked about how important it is to be able to talk clearly with their peers and how important it will be as they move into middle school and how they can improve those skills.
I also found an app that might be a fun introduction to meditation. The app is called SMILING MIND and has a lot of short, simple meditations you can do as a family or with your kids. Meditation is a great way to help kids become more self-aware and can help them handle difficult situations more easily.
As always, if have a question or concern, please reach out to me at my school email: brigby@minidokaschools.org.

Notification of Student Photos on Social Media
We post lots of pictures throughout the month to show you what is going on at school. If you would not like to have your child in a picture/video that could potentially be posted to our social media websites - please let the office know. If we don't hear from you, we will assume you agree.
Thank you-
