It has been wonderful to see so much success happening throughout our building! Our students are finding their rhythm with classroom expectations and assignments, while our teachers continue dedicating their time and energy to helping every student learn, grow, and achieve greatness. We recognize that the beginning of a new school year brings a period of learning and adjustment for everyone, and we sincerely appreciate your flexibility, encouragement, and continued partnership.

Please continue reminding your students about the importance of arriving at school on time, following all school expectations—including our dress code—and working hard and trying their best each and every day. Your support at home makes a meaningful difference!

This week’s newsletter includes important information and reminders for our CSLA families. Be sure to read below for a fun and exciting announcement that demonstrates just how special CSLA is and what we can achieve when our students, staff, and families work together to support student growth and achievement.

As a reminder, there will be no school on Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day. We look forward to welcoming everyone back on Tuesday, September 8!

Have a safe and wonderful three-day weekend, and happy Labor Day! 🙂

CSLA is GREEN! 💚

Please join me in congratulating our students and staff on their incredible accomplishments during the 2025–2026 school year! I am extremely proud to announce that our school’s outstanding achievement and growth on CMAS—the Colorado Measures of Academic Success—earned CSLA the state’s highest School Performance Plan Framework rating!

Each year, the Colorado Department of Education evaluates schools based on student achievement and academic growth on state assessments. This rating reflects the hard work, dedication, and collective effort of our students, staff, and families. We are incredibly proud of this achievement and grateful to everyone who helped our students reach new heights. Together, we are continuing our climb toward the summit! 🐐🏔️

Just like last year, we are continuing to build upon our students’ math strengths through weekly fluency practice! Beginning September 8, all K–8 students will complete math fluency homework each week. Homework will typically be assigned every Monday and must be returned by Thursday. Each assignment should take approximately 15–20 minutes to complete.

Consistent fluency practice helps students strengthen foundational math skills while improving accuracy, efficiency, and automaticity. These skills allow students to solve problems more confidently and successfully engage with grade-level mathematics.

We encourage families to sit with their students, discuss their strategies, and provide encouragement as they complete their work. If you have any questions, please reach out to your child’s math teacher. Thank you for partnering with us to build strong and confident mathematicians!

Every Monday is an early dismissal day at CSLA. Students are dismissed at 2:10 p.m. Please plan accordingly for afternoon pick-up. Thank you!

CSLA Dress Code Information:

All students are expected to be in approved CSLA dress code every day. Please review the handbook with your student and help ensure they arrive in appropriate attire.
