The vision of ESVA is to be a leader in elementary virtual education, setting the standard for excellence in online learning. We aim to create a dynamic learning environment that challenges and inspires students to achieve their academic goals. By leveraging technology, we strive to create a virtual academy where all students feel valued, supported, and empowered to become lifelong learners.

Overview of The Elementary School Virtual Academy Overview of The Elementary School Virtual Academy

Since the beginning of the 25/26 school year, the Elementary School Virtual Academy (ESVA) has been an all-inclusive, stand-alone program option for families. It includes virtual instruction in all 4 core subjects, ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies, along with elective options at no additional cost. All ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies courses are robust in content and meet all core standards. Students are provided with everything they need to succeed in class. (See below for what will be provided.)

Students must complete all coursework since the ESVA program is not intended to be supplemental. The ESVA program and classes support the development of relationships with peers and teachers. We are a community of learners and educators who value growth, respect, and innovative learning opportunities.

Students and families will have the opportunity to attend all Community Days (park days) that are offered by the ESVA team. Students and families enrolled in ESVA will also have the opportunity to attend up to 9 field trips offered through ESVA, with a minimum of 4 per semester. We will have 8 virtual (attendance optional) assemblies throughout the year. We are committed to fostering community and friendships among our students and their learning coaches.

The ESVA program will also offer elective courses. Elective courses are supplemental in nature and will not cover all content standards for the grade level.

ESVA is a hybrid program that provides live classes 1-3 days per week, during which students receive instruction from a credentialed teacher and have opportunities to engage with peers of similar age. Asynchronous work is assigned and must be completed at home on days when there is no live class. Parents will be able to choose between live and asynchronous classes for science and social studies.

Our unique hybrid model allows families to support their students' learning at home while still retaining some flexibility.

We hope you will join us as the ESVA program continues to grow!

Your student will have two teachers when enrolled in ESVA. Each teacher will teach 2 of the 4 core subjects. One of your ESVA teachers will also be your student's teacher of record. This is the teacher you will check in with each learning period.

ESVA provides ELA, Math, Science, & Social Studies classes (our 4 core subjects) at grade level.

ELA and Math classes will be live (in Zoom) and meet 2 times per week (Tuesdays and Thursdays) for 1st-6th grade, 3 times per week (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays) for kindergarten, and 4 times per week (math on Monday/Wednesday and ELA on T/Thursday) for TK. Asynchronous work will be assigned for all classes. Optional Homework Club will be available four to five days per week.

ESVA students will have three options for Science and Social Studies classes.

Option 1 will allow enrolled students to participate in live Zoom classes. The science and social studies classes will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays for 30 minutes each, and asynchronous work will be assigned on other days.

Option 2 will allow enrolled students to participate in asynchronous classes (no live classes). For the 26/27 school year, our asynchronous classes will use the same curriculum as our live Zoom classes.

Option 3 will allow enrolled students to participate in one live Zoom class (Science or Social Studies) and one asynchronous (Science or Social Studies).

Elective classes will be available for all students enrolled in ESVA.
