EHS Newsletter
May 2, 2025
Hello Ranger Families!
There is only one week until May Break. Next week is an important week for students to connect with their teachers about what they still need to do to demonstrate proficiency in their Essential Learning Standards. Students should ask their teachers for support at school next week and also inquire about what they can work on during May Break to get caught up as we approach the end of the school year.
Also, we will be hosting an Incoming 9th Grade Night next Thursday, May 8th from 6-7:30pm in the EHS Commons for all current 8th grade students and their families. If you have an 8th grader or know one, please help us spread the word about this important event. Students and families are encouraged to attend this fun event to learn about 9th Grade Success, graduation requirements, and how to get involved in athletics and activities at EHS. Dinner will be provided. We are excited to welcome the Class of 2029 next Thursday evening!
Have a great weekend!

Clackamas ESD Student Art Show
Over 260+ artworks were submitted from schools, (grades 6-12) throughout Clackamas County. This is a juried show with college professors and professional artists serving as judges. A big congratulations go out to Ren Suo, who was awarded Honorable Mention, (10th grade) for her mixed media piece "Ode to Self" and Lilly Horn, (senior) who was awarded Superintendent's Choice for her charcoal landscape drawing "Forgotten in My Eyes, Stored in My Heart". Lilly's drawing is being purchased for Clackamas ESD's in-house collection of student works. Lilly also won this honor her sophomore year. Both Lilly and Ren have been invited to submit work for the student exhibit at the Lake Oswego Festival of the Arts in June. We are immensely proud of them and all seven EHS artists who participated.

Dear Estacada Students and Families,
Estacada High School will send you monthly updates about your child’s attendance. We believe that keeping you informed helps us work together to support your child’s success.
Why are we doing this?
Attendance is important for success in school and graduation. To stay on track, students need to be present at least 90% of the time. If attendance drops below 90%, it counts as chronic absenteeism. This includes both excused and unexcused absences. Missing 14 days in a school year is considered chronic. Our goal is to keep you informed so you can have conversations with your child about improving attendance.
What are we doing?
Each month, we’ll send updates about attendance percentages for every student. Whether your child has 100% attendance, is above 90%, or is below 90%, you’ll get a report. These updates will come directly from the Estacada High School Office.
How will this work?
You’ll receive attendance updates through ParentSquare on the first Monday of each month. Mr. Bryan Scott and Mr. James Wolfe will lead these efforts, working with our communication team to make sure the updates are helpful. Our office staff will also reach out to families and students to talk about attendance.
When will this start?
This program will begin on Monday, February 3rd.
What do we hope to achieve?
We want to see more students attending school regularly. Better attendance means fewer absences and stronger progress in learning important skills. We’ll use data to track attendance and see how we’re doing.
What’s next?
We’re preparing letters to send home and will talk to students about the importance of attendance. Be ready to receive updates soon!
Together, we can help our students succeed by making attendance a priority.
Have a great day!

Classrooms are Cell Phone Free Zones
Life is full of distractions that keep us from performing our best.
Our expectation is that classrooms are cell phone free zones.
The classroom is a space for learning and engagement in preparation for a student’s next step in life. Join us in fostering this commitment to learning by:
Talking with your student about their cell phone use in school.
Be prepared to set limits and to collaborate with school staff in making learning a priority.
