Preschool Starts this Week!
We are very excited to welcome around 200 preschoolers this week! Preschool begins on Wednesday for M/W/F and 5-day students and on Thursday for T/TH students. I know our teachers are so excited to begin! Preschool families may utilize bus transportation or bring their students to school. You will park in the front of the school in a parking spot; please do not use the loop area (it will be blocked off) as it blocks other families in. Please also do not park in the handicapped spots unless you have a tag or permanent plate. We must reserve those spots for guests with disabilities. Thank you for your cooperation. We will have several photo opportunities outside and then you may walk your child into the lobby. Our team will greet your students at the cafeteria doors and take your child to their class table for breakfast. Please say goodbyes outside and in the lobby. Swift goodbyes are the very best for preschoolers. Some will be sad, but they will quickly adjust. The more positive you make it, the better the transition will be. There will be some tears at first, but this does improve!
Car rider line is going very well! Please remember in the afternoon to be mindful of the movement of the line. We have had a few cars just sitting and others having to go around. We want to keep it moving efficiently for everyone.
The start of preschool WILL impact bus routes in the morning a bit. Each bus has preschoolers on their route. Please understand that this will settle in, but times will adjust to allow for those students to be picked up.
Preschool families are encouraged to attend our parent meeting tomorrow at 8:00 am or 2:30 PM. This is a time for you to meet the school admin team and discuss procedures/expectations as well as tips for a successful year. We will have some goodies for you.
The fundraiser is going SO WELL! Please keep registering and sharing. We have almost hit our halfway mark and we haven't really launched much of the program yet. We will launch the full program this week. You all are doing amazing!
If we can support your family or your child in any way, please do not hesitate to contact our office (or me directly at laurabeth.hayes@hardin.kyschools.us).

Week At-a-Glance
Keep up with the School Buzz!
Here's our week at a glance!
North Park Reading Tree
Help add leaves to our tree!
We have a special painted tree in our cafeteria called our "Reading Tree." We add paper leaves to this tree when students read a book at home with family! We get excited to see how many leaves are added to the tree each month. Additionally, students earn a special sticker (like the kind at the doctor's office) each month. They LOVE collecting these seasonal stickers and adding their leaves to the tree. Paper copies of the leaves will go home the first full week of school. You can also print them using the file below. Send in your completed leaves and let's fill our tree for August!
Preschool Parent Meetings
Preschool parent meetings will be held on Monday, August 24th at 8:00 AM or 2:30 PM. These meetings are about 30 minutes in length and allow us (the administrators) to review important information with you before school begins. We would love to see you at one of the meetings so you can help your Tiny Trojan get off to a great start! We encourage at least one family member to attend one of the meetings, if at all possible.
iReady Inform Testing Begins
iReady is a diagnostic testing system that all of Hardin County Schools utilizes to monitor growth over the course of the school year. We look at student, class and school data in August, December/January and then again in late April/early May. This test is completed on a computer and is designed to be student-friendly in its design. We encourage our students to do their best so that we can better understand what each student already knows and develop individualized learning plans for each child. You will receive a copy of the report for your child as well.
Color Days
We love dressing up and having fun with our students. Color days begin this week so that we can celebrate learning all of our colors in preschool and kindergarten!
