Staggered Kindergarten Schedule
Staggered enrollment allows for a gradual transition from home to school. During the first week of school, each scholar will be assigned a special enrollment day and will come to school only on that day.
Below is the schedule for Kestrel Heights’ Kindergarten staggered enrollment. If you have a conflict with your designated day, please contact our front office at 919-484-1300 ext. 200.
Wednesday, August 18: Scholars with last names beginning with A through G report to Kestrel Heights.
Thursday, August 19: Scholars with last names beginning with H through O report to Kestrel Heights.
Friday, August 20: Scholars with last names beginning with P through Z report to Kestrel Heights.
Monday, August 23: First Day of School for ALL Kindergarteners: This will be your child’s first official day of kindergarten with their assigned teacher and classroom of friends!
The staggered entry day will follow our regular school day schedule from 7:50 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. On your scholar’s staggered entry date, please walk them to the kindergarten door (which is to the left of our main entrance – the door will be clearly marked) at normal drop-off time (between 7:20- 7:50). From this point, after a hug from your BIG KINDERGARTENER, one of our kindergarten team members will escort your scholar to a kindergarten classroom. Both kindergarten classes are a short walk from that kindergarten door. Parents are unable to walk their children to their classroom on their scheduled staggered enrollment day, as classroom assignments will not be finalized at that time. As we are operating in a time of pandemic, we are not permitting parents to walk their children to their classrooms on the first days of school as we traditionally have. We are enforcing this policy out of an abundance of caution in order to make our school as safe as possible for in-person instruction.
