PD Description PD Description

Behavior Basics is a course designed to increase understanding of research-based behavior principles, establish a consistent approach to address behavior challenges through a functional lens, and recognize how principles of behavior are embedded in PBIS/MTSS for Social Emotional Behavioral Health (SEBH).

This course will provide an overview of functional concepts of behavior, as well as an understanding of how these concepts apply to each tier (1, 2, and 3). This will also include how these principles can be applied to establishing effective interventions across each tier.

Throughout the professional development sessions, participants will learn and practice the skills necessary to install and coach the implementation of the behavior principles and strategies at each tier of the MTSS system framework in systematic, efficient and effective ways. Feedback will be given by the instructors to ensure effective application of learning.
