Welcome Back!

Dear Rose Tree Families,

What a busy and exciting week it has been! It was wonderful seeing so many of you at our Open House on Thursday. The excitement and enthusiasm from our students and families made it a great way to kick off the new school year!

We’re especially excited to introduce this year’s schoolwide theme: Rose Tree ROCKS! Throughout the year, we’ll celebrate the many ways our Huskies ROCK through Kindness, Learning, Teamwork, and Leadership. We’ll also focus on a simple but meaningful message: Every Interaction Matters. From a kind word or helping hand to working together and celebrating one another’s successes, each interaction helps make Rose Tree a place where everyone feels welcomed, valued, and supported.

We can’t wait to welcome all of our students back on Monday, August 31! As we prepare for the first week of school, please take a few moments to review this week’s newsletter. It includes important updates, reminders, and upcoming dates to help everyone get off to a great start.

And don’t forget to mark your calendar for our first Spirit Day of the year:

  • Thursday, September 3 – Rose Tree School Spirit Day! Wear your Rose Tree spirit wear or show your Husky pride by wearing our school colors: maroon and gray.

We’re looking forward to a wonderful year filled with learning, meaningful relationships, school spirit, and plenty of opportunities to have fun together. Thank you for your continued partnership and support.

Let’s make the 2026-2027 school year our best one yet and show everyone why Rose Tree ROCKS!

Warm regards,

Eric Bucci
Principal

Car Rider Signs Car Rider Signs

Once again, we are giving all of our families a car rider sign. They will be handed out on the first day of school. These signs are extremely helpful to those who supervise the car line. There may be a time, at some point in the school year, when your child will be a car rider. Should this happen it is very helpful to already have a car rider sign in place. This will ensure that our car rider line runs quickly and efficiently. We do have staff who regularly supervise the car line but there are times when substitutes are needed. This is another reason why using your sign is so helpful.

Using two rubber bands, please place this sign on the passenger side visor. The sign should be attached so that it becomes visible when the visor is straight down (not pressed against the window). It can remain attached, without getting in the way, when the visor is not in use. Thank you so much for helping us move our car rider line along more quickly and efficiently. These signs are very helpful to us. We appreciate your support!

A few reminders from Mrs. Hefferan, the school nurse:

Welcome Back!

Here are a few reminders from Mrs. Hefferan, our school nurse:

To our rising 3rd grade families: The Pennsylvania School Health Regulations require that all 3rd grade students receive a dental examination. Thank you to all the families who have already returned their child’s dental examination form. If your rising 3rd grade student is going to the dentist over the summer months, please ask the dentist to complete this Family Dental Report. Examinations must have been performed after September 1, 2025 and can be sent to Mrs. Hefferan via US mail or email (bhefferan@rtmsd.org) by Friday, September 11, 2026.

If your child has any prescribed emergency medication (Epinephrine, Albuterol inhaler, seizure medication), please ask your child’s primary care provider to complete the blank action plan that went home from school on the last day with your child’s emergency medication. The completed paperwork and medication can be brought into school during open house on August 27th or during the first week of school.

Contact Mrs. Hefferan (610)627-7228 with any questions.

Sincerely,

Bridget Hefferan

Rose Tree Elementary School Picture Day

Thursday, September 24, 2026

Dear Rose Tree Families,

Picture Day at Rose Tree Elementary School will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2026. Please review the information below carefully to ensure your child’s picture order is processed correctly.

Before Picture Day: Pre-Ordering

Shortly before Picture Day, you will receive an email from Active Image Media containing a personalized ordering link for your child.

  • Each student will receive their own unique link.

  • Please use each child’s individual link when ordering.

  • Do not share links between siblings or other family members.

  • If you have multiple children at Rose Tree, you must place a separate order using each child’s individual link.

  • Pre-ordering provides the best value. Pre-orders will be delivered to the school and distributed to students.

  • You do not need to print your receipt or send it to school. All orders are automatically submitted to Active Image Media.

Didn't Receive Your Link?

Please check your junk or spam folder first.

If you still cannot locate your child’s link, email support@activeimagemedia.com and include:

  • Rose Tree Elementary School

  • Your child’s name

Active Image Media will respond with your child’s assigned link.

Ordering After Picture Day

If you do not pre-order, you will receive another email approximately one week after Picture Day. You can use the same personalized link to view your child’s photo and place an order.

Please note: Orders placed after Picture Day will include a $9.95 shipping fee because they will be mailed directly to your home rather than delivered to school.

Family Special

Families with more than two children attending Rose Tree Elementary may receive a free package for their third child.

  • The free package must be the same package ordered for the siblings.

  • A la carte items are not included.

  • To receive the special, send a note with your third child on Picture Day.

  • Please include the siblings’ names, the package ordered, and the desired background.

Make-Up and Retake Day

The school will notify families when the Make-Up Picture Day is scheduled.

If you pre-ordered and are not satisfied with your child’s photo, your child is eligible for a retake. The original photo package must be returned on Make-Up Day to receive a replacement package.

If you did not pre-order and would like a retake, a $5.00 retake fee will be required.

Thank you!

Support the PHS Band Support the PHS Band

The Philadelphia Phillies have invited the Penncrest Marching Band to participate in their Phillies Band Night on Wednesday, September 23, 2026 at 6:40 pm. This is both a fundraiser for the band and a competition to see which high school sells the most tickets.

The band will march in a parade down Citizens Bank Way and then play in a concert about an hour before the game. And if our high school sells the most tickets, our band will also get to perform on the field before the game! We have won this competition for the last decade and would like to continue the winning streak.

Tickets are $45 each. Tickets are on sale until Wednesday, September 9th. A portion of the ticket sales will benefit the Penncrest Band

You do not need to have a PayPal account to make a donation. You can check out as guest and make your payment safely with a credit card.

Ticket pick up will be at Penncrest HS Parking lot (outside of the band room - near the lion statue):

  • Tuesday, September 15: 6 - 8 PM

  • Wednesday, September 16: 6 - 8 PM

This is a great opportunity for the kids to perform and help raise money for the band. As an added bonus, the Phillies are on a hot streak so it should be a great game to watch!!

Purchase your tickets here

**Any questions, please email info@penncrestband.org.
