HOLY FAMILY SCHOOL
SEPTEMBER 4th, 2023
A PRAYER FOR LIGHT, JOY, AND COMMUNITY
Loving God, As we come together this week in celebration, laughter, and school spirit, remind us of the beautiful gift of belonging.
May our smiles brighten someone’s day, our laughter lift someone’s spirits, and our kindness remind others that they are valued, welcomed, and loved.
Help us to see that joy is more than a moment of happiness. It is a gift we share, a light we carry, and a way of bringing Your love into the world.
Bless our Holy Family community. May the joy we create within our school walls reach beyond them, spreading kindness, hope, and light wherever we go.
May we be the reason someone smiles, the reason someone feels included, and the reason someone’s world shines a little brighter. Amen.
THAT DAY WHEN HORSES SHOWED UP AT SCHOOL
Well, this was certainly not your average Thursday afternoon at Holy Family!
Last week, we were treated to a wonderful and completely unexpected visit from two members of the Ottawa Police Mounted Unit and their magnificent Clydesdale horses!
What began as a curious sight outside our classroom windows quickly turned into an unforgettable experience for many of our students. The officers generously took time to greet our students, answer questions, and introduce us to their beautiful four-legged partners. Needless to say, there was no shortage of excitement!
One of the most special things about this visit was knowing that, for some of our students, this was their very first opportunity to see a horse in person. These enormous, gentle animals were quite a sight, and the wonder and excitement on the children’s faces were absolutely priceless.
Sometimes, the most meaningful learning experiences are the ones we could never have planned. This was a wonderful reminder that opportunities to explore the world beyond our immediate surroundings are not something every child has experienced.
A huge thank you to the Ottawa Police Mounted Unit for taking time out of their afternoon to make ours so memorable. You certainly made a lot of children (and adults!) very happy!
It’s not every day that a Clydesdale comes knocking on your classroom window!
