đź’ˇHIGHLIGHTS FROM THE GLEN
PBIS Assembly- Inclusive Schools Week
Our 67th day of school wrapped up with a fantastic PBIS assembly focused on the “I” in our Chipmunk P.R.I.D.E.—Inclusive. To help bring this message to life, several student leaders—Julia, Tommy, Daphne, and Seth took on the special role of reading It’s Okay to Be Different by Todd Parr. Their voices helped highlight the importance of embracing one another’s unique qualities and showing acceptance to everyone in our school community.
Throughout the assembly, students explored what it truly means to be inclusive—welcoming others to play, listening respectfully, offering help when someone needs it, and celebrating differences that make our school stronger.
To close out the event on a high-energy note, several members of our scurry joined in our “67-second challenge,” a fun winter-themed race where students and Mr. Perez had 67 seconds to suit up in cold-weather gear as quickly as possible. Laughter, cheers, and teamwork filled the cafeteria as we celebrated both our 67th day of learning and our ongoing commitment to building a welcoming and inclusive school for all.
Shout-Out to Our Amazing Chipmunks!
We would like to recognize three outstanding members of our scurry—Ellie, Robin, and Brooke from Mr. Dennis’ class. These thoughtful students used their own time to create handmade puppets, each paired with a positive affirmation, and generously shared them with our MCIU students. Their kindness, creativity, and commitment to fostering an inclusive environment make us incredibly proud. Kudos to these compassionate leaders!
