GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT OF PUPILS
As we progress through this half-term, it's a pleasure to witness the continued growth and development of our pupils. The atmosphere in our school is buzzing with enthusiasm and engagement, and I'm delighted to share some highlights with you.
Our classrooms are alive with high-quality learning experiences. It's heartening to see our pupils settling in further as the weeks go by, embracing their studies with genuine interest and dedication. This commitment to learning is evident across all year groups, creating a vibrant educational environment.
Our after-school activities continue to be a source of joy and enrichment for many of our pupils. The woodlands and multi-sports clubs, in particular, have been well-attended, offering fantastic opportunities for our children to explore nature and develop their physical skills. It's wonderful to see so many eager faces at these sessions, making the most of these extra-curricular opportunities.
EDUCATONAL VISITS
Recently, Class 1 embarked on an exciting educational journey to Hornsea Museum. This visit provided a fascinating insight into toys from the past, allowing our youngest learners to connect with history in a tangible and engaging way. Such experiences are invaluable in broadening our pupils' understanding of the world around them and how it has changed over time.
Class 2 and Class 3 are taking part in an art workshop on Friday as part of work in the local authority on providing cultural experiences for children in schools. We are excited to watch their engagement and enjoyment of the workshop on offer.
ENGLISH RESOURCE - READY STEADY WRITE
We're thrilled to report that our new English resource, Ready Steady Write, is having a remarkably positive impact on our literacy curriculum. The high-quality content and carefully selected texts are not only educational but also thoroughly enjoyable for our pupils. It's a joy to see their enthusiasm for writing grow as they engage with these new materials.
SPORTS EVENTS AFTER SCHOOL
Mr Wood, our Sports' Development Coach, helps to organise and co-ordinate a wide range of sporting activities both in school time and after school for children across the Federation. These events include football, hockey, running, sorts hall' athletics and tag rugby.
If your child is interested in taking part, but unable to get there, a couple of Wetwang parents have kindly offered to help to drive them. If you are interested in taking up this kind offer please let us know in the office and we'll pass on your details.
GENTLE REMINDER
As we look ahead, I'd like to remind you of two important upcoming events. Firstly, this Thursday will be a non-uniform day. We kindly ask for donations of tombola prizes for FOSS (Friends of Sledmere School) on this day. Your support in this matter is greatly appreciated and will contribute to enhancing our school community.
Secondly, we have a very special celebration coming up. This Friday at 2:15 pm, we will be holding our Harvest festival in the church. This is always a heartwarming event that brings our school community together. We warmly invite all parents, carers, and family members to join us for this lovely occasion.
These events and activities are just a snapshot of the rich and varied experiences we offer at Sledmere and Wetwang Federation. They reflect our commitment to providing a well-rounded education that nurtures not just academic growth, but also personal development and community spirit.
Thank you for your continued support and involvement in our school community. Together, we are creating a vibrant and nurturing environment where our pupils can thrive and reach their full potential.
