Peakview Academy
at Conrad Ball - 2025-2026
March 2026 NEWSLETTER
Happy March, Peakview Academy Families!
March brings with it a sense of momentum at Peakview Academy. As we head into spring, our calendar is filled with meaningful opportunities for connection, celebration, and growth, from conferences and the Scholastic Book Fair to concerts, athletics, and important planning for the 2026–2027 school year. This time of year always highlights the strength of our partnership with families and the many ways our learners shine both inside and outside the classroom.
I also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our incredible PVA community for supporting our recent fundraiser nights at Dairy Queen and Justine’s Pizza. We were thrilled to learn that both evenings were among their most successful fundraiser nights. That speaks volumes about the generosity and commitment of our PVA families. It truly is something special to be part of a community that shows up so consistently.
As always, thank you for your partnership, your presence, and your continued support!

Action Required: 2026-2027 Annual Family Check-In!
It’s that time of year again! We are officially opening the Annual Family Check-In for the
upcoming 2026-2027 school year.
Why is this so important?
We want to ensure every student is safe, supported, and reachable. Updating your information in
Infinite Campus is the only way to guarantee we have the most accurate data for:
Emergency Contacts: Who do we call if your child needs you?
Health Information: Keeping our nursing staff up to date on allergies or medications.
Communication: Ensuring you receive school closures, event invites, and grade reports.
"But my information hasn't changed!"
We still need you to complete the check-in! Even if your address and phone number are
exactly the same as last year, the system requires a fresh "digital signature" to confirm your data
is current for the new school year. It only takes a few minutes, but it makes a world of difference
for our staff and your student.
How to Complete Your Check-In:
1. Log In: Visit your [Infinite Campus Parent Portal].
2. Navigate: Look for the "Annual Family Check-In"
3. Review & Submit: Double-check your details, make any necessary edits, and hit submit!
Thank you for helping us start the 2026-2027 year strong!
PVA Music Concert
Students will arrive at 6:00 PM. The choir will start promptly at 6:30, followed by the orchestra and the band. We Look forward to seeing you at the concert!

News From the Library
We have begun a new email reminder for families to let them know when a student's book is overdue. Ms. Plagman is happy to answer any questions if you respond to the email. Please note that as a Title 1 school we do not charge fines for lost or damaged books but will accept donations at the office toward replacing a book. Students who have previously attended another Thompson school may still have a fine showing on their account and this can be addressed a couple of ways:
1. Contact that school and pay the fine. If it is a financial difficulty to do so please email Ms. Plagman (lorelei.plagman@tsd.org) and she will have it removed. Fines do stay on student's accounts until they graduate and need to be reconciled to receive their diploma.
2. Our 3rd through 5th graders can "work" off their fine by helping clean and straighten books in the library. Once Ms. Plagman hears from an adult in the household that a book has been searched for and is lost or is irreparably damaged she marks it lost in the catalog and the student in most cases is allowed to check out a book again. It is important for an adult to notify by email or a written note rather than just the student reporting it themselves.
Please see the reminder below about taking acre of the books you check out from our library. Thank you for helping teach responsibility and accountability to our students at Peakview!

State Immunizations Annual Parent Letter
Dear families of students attending Colorado kindergarten through 12th grade schools for the 2026-27 school year:
The letter below includes important information and other resources about Colorado’s immunization requirements to attend school. There’s nothing more important than making sure your child stays healthy and learning all year long. Routine vaccination can prevent the spread of diseases like measles, mumps, varicella (chickenpox), whooping cough, and others, so kids can just be kids. The vast majority of Colorado families choose to protect their children through vaccination. Please review this letter.

Where Does My Water Go?
While some pollutants are removed during wastewater treatment, rain and snowmelt can wash oil, fertilizers, pet waste, and trash into storm drains. This untreated water flows directly into local streams, harming aquatic life. Keep it clean — only rain down the drain! Preschool for the 2026-2027 School Year
Discover the Thompson School District Preschool Program!
In the Thompson School District, we are committed to providing high-quality early childhood education led by dedicated and highly skilled teachers and paraprofessionals. To further support our students, Speech-Language Pathologists and Occupational Therapists visit weekly, and our Early Childhood Coordinator staff provide continuous classroom support, feedback, and coaching.
We use research-based curricula to foster growth in literacy, math, language, motor skills, and social-emotional learning. Our curriculum aligns with Preschool through Grade 12 State Academic Standards and meets federal Head Start Child Outcomes, ensuring our students develop the foundational skills needed for future success.
We believe that strong relationships are at the heart of learning. Our classrooms are designed to foster meaningful connections between students, teachers, and families, creating a supportive and inclusive community where every child feels valued and inspired to grow. Chromebook Insurance Options for Families
There’s still time to insure your student’s Chromebook! Learn more about insurance options and pricing on our website at tsd.org/its > Tech 4 All > Chromebook Insurance. One break is typically more expensive than the cost of insurance.
Lost or broken Charging cord?
Visit the Tech4All section of our website to purchase a new, approved Chromebook charger. Purchasing from our website is often $10-$15 less than the $25 fine for a missing charger.
Monitoring Student's Online Activity at Home
Securly Home gives families a view of their child’s online activity on district devices. The app sends real time alerts for flagged activity, provides weekly activity summaries, and allows parents and guardians to see which sites their child is visiting. It also offers simple tools for setting filtering preferences when the Chromebook is off campus, helping families support safe and healthy device use at home.

Additionally, families that qualify may receive discounted or waived fees for programs inside and outside of the school district.

The instructional materials fee is charged to each student annually. This money is utilized for buying textbooks and extracurricular materials for our school, replacing old materials, or replenishing items students use.

These fees are charged to students participating in specific classes and activities. This fee is based on the cost of materials and supplies that have been depleted and need to be replenished.

Peakview Academy Student & Family Handbook 2025-2026
Keeping Our Hands and Bodies to Ourselves
At Peakview Academy at Conrad Ball, we are committed to creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment for all students. To help everyone feel comfortable and secure, we want to remind families of our physical interaction expectations, which align with the district’s Code of Conduct.
Students are expected to keep their hands and bodies to themselves at all times—this includes classrooms, hallways, playgrounds, buses, and all school-related activities. Appropriate physical interactions include handshakes, high-fives, and participation in supervised activities like PE, sports, and recess games, always with mutual consent.
Inappropriate interactions, such as roughhousing, hugging, kissing, hand-holding, or touching another person’s belongings or body, will result in reminders and redirection. Repeated or serious violations may lead to additional consequences.
These expectations are highlighted in our PVA Learner & Family Handbook.
Thank you for partnering with us to ensure that Peakview Academy remains a safe and welcoming space for all learners!
