Woodcrest Staff are SO excited to welcome students on Tuesday, 9/2. Please read below for important information about arrival and dismissal.

Reminder: Tuesday, 9/2, is a 1:00pm dismissal.

If there are any changes to your child's dismissal arrangements (walk, bus or SACC), please inform your child's teacher and Mrs. Petroski (npetroski@chclc.org) as soon as possible.

Teachers will meet their students outside on Tuesday, 9/2, and Wednesday, 9/3. Each teacher will have a sign and students will line up with their classes to enter the building together. Due to security safeguards, parents will not be allowed to enter the building.

• Students in Kindergarten and Miss DellaVecchia & Miss Bersani’s classes will meet in the gated black top area to the left of the main entrance doors.

• Students in the ASD classrooms will meet in the gated blacktop area behind the small playground.

• Students in Grades 1-5 will meet on the recess blacktop area behind the 4th/5th Grade Wing.

All students will be directed to meet their teachers in the above grade-level meeting points.

• Students who are riding the bus will be dropped off and then escorted by a staff member to their grade-level meeting points. ASD students will be escorted to their classrooms.

• Students who attend SACC in the morning will be escorted by a staff member to their grade-level meeting points.

• If your children are walking or being dropped off, please bring them to the meeting area for their grade level.

• There will be many staff members in the halls and outside to help students locate their teacher. Staff members will also have class lists to help students who may forget their teacher’s name.

There will be no car drop-off line on September 2nd & 3rd. Since there will be many students and families around the building at arrival, we will be closing the main driveway at 8:30am. No cars will be able to enter or exit the front parking lot after 8:30. The main driveway and parking lot will reopen once all students have entered the building.

Due to the large number of walkers at Woodcrest, we will close off the main driveway from 3:20-3:40 for student safety. If you elect to park in the lot to pick up your child, please be willing to wait until the driveway opens at 3:40.

Walkers/Student Pick-Ups:

• Students should only exit the building through doors that are staffed by by an adult, which are the front main office doors and the SACC by the large APR.
• Students should remain on the sidewalks unless escorted by an adult.
• Any students riding bicycles must walk their bicycle until they are off campus.

Students Riding the Bus:

• Students taking a bus will wait in their classrooms until their bus has arrived. Students will be escorted by a staff member to the bus loop in the rear of the building.
  

Students Attending SACC:

• Students attending SACC will be escorted by a staff member to the large APR at dismissal.

Class class assignments, bus routes and bus stops are now available in Genesis. Please make sure to log into your account on the Genesis Parent Portal. All district forms must be completed to view your child's assignment.

Any student wishing to purchase breakfast at school may do so beginning at 8:45am. PLEASE talk with your child to tell them if they should or should not go to breakfast when they arrive. Lunch is also available daily for students to purchase. Your child's lunch number is the last four digits of their School ID.

The 5th Grade Safety Program has been recognized by Character.org as a 2025 Promising Practice for demonstrating a significant impact and aligning with one or more of the 11 Principles Framework for Schools.

5th Grade Safeties support younger students throughout the day, specifically at lunch, recess and dismissal. Safeties serve as role models, demonstrating our core values in actions, and helping our younger students interact with one another in positive ways. Thank you to Mrs. Gardner and Mrs. Lynch for leading our 5th Grade Safety Program!
