Happy Monday F.AVE Families!

Virtual learning is hard work! It really is! I want to acknowledge that for everyone. There are also many successes that we have experienced too! I don't want us to overlook this as well. I do believe that we are on the right path and that we will continue to work together to make the path smoother in areas where it is a little bumpy right now. I want to provide a couple of general information, tools and strategies that may help us along our virtual journey together:

Tech support

Need help with a CSD technology issue?

Students, Families, and Staff: Please visit the Virtual Learning Center Tech Help page. At the bottom of the page is a blue link that you click to enter the tech issue you need fixed. It is important to log it here because it not only gets you the help you need, but this is also how our district will determine what the larger issues are across the board.

Synchronous sessions (Live)

All live sessions are recorded so that if you have connectivity issues or if you miss a session, you can go back and view the lesson, complete the work, and submit it to the teacher through Google Classroom. This is also helpful if the technology fails in the moment and you can't reconnect quickly.

COVID Response Team

Thank you to the many parents who expressed interest in our COVID response team. We will be notifying you all about selection by this Friday, August 28. We will then hold our first meeting September 3, 2020. This is a week later than we anticipated.

F.AVE's SLT

Are you interested in being a parent representative on F.AVE's School Leadership Team? If so, please let us know by either sending a picture and short blurb about yourself and why you'd like to serve on the team or complete a video submission of your interest. We will share submissions with our families and hold virtual elections for two parent seats on the team. Click this link to read more about the charter system and why each school establishes a school leadership team. The window to submit interest will be from August 24-31, 2020.

Sign Up to Check Out F.AVE Library Books

We are very excited to announce the launch of our contact-less book check out system, which we have dubbed the F.AVE Flybrary! Parents, you must sign up to participate in this program where students may check out books and choose to receive them by bus delivery on Tuesdays or curbside pick up on Wednesdays. Books will be reserved through our Destiny Catalog.

Our 3rd graders learned about this today, and our 4th and 5th graders will receive this information on Tuesday, August 25th.

Delivery and Pick Up will begin next week, the week of August 31st. Students should begin reserving their books this week!

Please make your way through this slide show, complete with audio and video tutorials to learn how to use our flybrary. At the end of the show, you will see links to sign up and participate. Be sure if you choose our bus delivery service that you sign up with the app to track your delivery.

5th Grade Reading Bowl Team

Parent's there is a video tutorial for your students with more detail in their media center classroom under the August 19 assignment.

Girls On the Run

Girls on the Run is still happening this season! We will have two virtual teams, with one on T/Th, and one on W/F. If school transitions to “in person”, the T/Th team may as well. The W/F team will be virtual only.

Trained coaches will lead lessons with your girls, and they will complete some walking/running activities on their own. It’s a great way to keep your girls active and to foster social and emotional skill development.
