Student Holiday February 13 & 16
Students will enjoy a long weekend with a Student Holiday on Friday, February 13 and Monday, February 16! While students are off, Friday will be a Professional Learning Day and Monday will be a Staff Workday for our team as they continue planning, preparing, and growing to support every Bearcat. We hope our students enjoy the extended break, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back refreshed and ready to learn!
Celebrating CTE Month: Information & Technology at Aledo High School
This Career & Technical Education Month, we’re highlighting the Information Technology Career Cluster at Aledo High School! This innovative program equips students with the skills to design, develop, support, and manage hardware, software, multimedia, and integrated systems that power today’s digital world.
Through the Cybersecurity and Programming & Software Development programs of study, students explore high-demand careers ranging from Software Developer and Programmer to Cybersecurity Specialist and Network Analyst. Along the way, they gain hands-on experience in problem-solving, coding, systems management, and digital design.
Graduates of this career cluster are well prepared to pursue college degrees in Computer Science, Software Engineering, and Web Page, Digital/Multimedia and Information Resources Design - launching them into impactful, future-ready careers.
At Aledo ISD, we’re Growing Greatness by preparing students to lead and innovate in an ever-evolving digital world.

Districts across the state are currently reviewing math course curriculum for adoption and implementation during the 2026-2027 school year. After an in-depth process of evaluation, the Aledo ISD Math Committees have narrowed down the state-approved curriculum options. We would like to offer the opportunity for community members to give feedback as we complete this process. Materials will be available for review in the Aledo ISD Administration Board Room, located at 1008 Bailey Ranch Road, at the following times:
- February 17-20
- February 23-27
- 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
For questions about the math adoption, please contact Deanne Torres at dtorres@aledoisd.org or Candace Summerhill at csummerhill@aledoisd.org.

Aledo ISD Honored as a Model PLC District!
We're excited to let you know that Aledo ISD has been named a Model PLC at Work District by Solution Tree!
Bearcats - this is a REALLY BIG DEAL! Aledo ISD is 1 of only 7 school districts in Texas to achieve this! This NATIONAL honor demonstrates a long-term commitment by our teachers, instructional staff, and instructional leaders to a culture of collaboration and a focus on learning and results.
Model PLC at Work districts that are recognized have shown for three years, “a sustained commitment to helping all of their students achieve at high levels." PLCs are really about educators coming together with a shared belief that the best way to improve student learning is through ongoing, job-embedded learning for the adults who serve them.
Congratulations to our ENTIRE EDUCATIONAL STAFF for this recognition! It is inspiring to see teams take collective ownership of student learning and work together to ensure that every student gets what they need to learn, grow and succeed
Only in Aledo | Where Robotics Builds Leaders
Only in Aledo, robotics is more than a competition. It is a journey of growth, leadership, innovation and service.
In the latest installment of our Only in Aledo series, meet the student leaders behind Aledo High School Robotics - Captain of 20325 Maximum Resistance Finley Van Dyk, Head Coder of 13811 High Voltage Christopher McClay, Captain of 6566 Circuit Breakers Drake Duppstadt and Captain of 9161 Overload Asher Childress. From engineering and coding to public speaking and community outreach, these Bearcats are experiencing the hardest fun they have ever had and Growing Greatness every step of the way.
Through FIRST Robotics, our students design, build, adapt, compete and serve. They make meaningful contributions to the Aledo community, connect with STEM professionals and learn what it truly means to put in the work and see it pay off. These are Exceptional Experiences that shape leaders both inside and outside the classroom.
Robotics at Aledo ISD is about more than building a machine. It is about building people. It is about putting in the time, energy and heart to achieve something bigger than yourself.
