Dear Vincent Massey Students and Families,
As we move into November, I want to thank our students, staff, and families for the positive energy and commitment they bring to VM School every day. Autumn has been a busy and productive season, and it has been wonderful to see our students learning, growing, and contributing to our school community.
We are especially proud of student attendance. Regular attendance is one of the most important factors in student success. Each month, we celebrate individual students who have achieved 95% or better attendance. We also celebrate classrooms that have achieved perfect daily attendance. Congratulations to everyone who has demonstrated such commitment to learning. Your dedication and consistency make a difference, and we encourage all students to strive for excellent attendance throughout the school year. Special thanks to our parents for sending your child to school each day so we can help them develop their skills!
We look forward to welcoming families to our Progress Conferences on Wednesday, November 5, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. These conferences provide an important opportunity for parents/guardians, students, and teachers to connect, celebrate successes, and discuss goals for continued growth. Strong communication between home and school is key to student achievement, and we encourage all families to attend.
On November 10, our school community will gather for our Remembrance Day Assembly. This special event gives students an opportunity to learn about and reflect on the sacrifices made by veterans and those who have served our country. We encourage students to participate respectfully as we honor those who have given so much for the freedoms we enjoy today.
We are excited to host our Winter Family Engagement Night on November 26. This evening will give families opportunities to connect, enjoy fun activities together, and celebrate our school community. We hope many of our students and their families will join us for an evening of winter-themed fun and learning.
Finally, our School Community Council (SCC) Craft Show will take place on November 21 from 10:00–4:00. Come support local vendors while enjoying a great community event. Admission is $2.00 per person, and proceeds support SCC initiatives that benefit our students and school.
Thank you for your continued support of VM School. Together, we can ensure that every student feels welcomed, supported, and inspired to achieve their best.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Tomporowski and Ms. Fernie
📆 Our Schedule for the Month
Scholastic BookFair
Scholastic Bookfair is coming! Starting on Monday November 2nd until Tuesday November 10 the bookfair will be in the library.
Miss Gaudet and Ms. Finch will also be helping with bookfair. Bookfair will be open on the night of conferences (November 5th) 3:00 - 8:00.
There is sure to be lots of new titles -- old favorites and maybe even something new.
A bookfair tote is being filled with lots of books, bookmarks, and other goodies. Tickets will be sold on this tote. 25 cents for 1 ticket or 5 for $1.00. Monies from the tote go directly back into the fair to purchase new books for the library.
As in past years - there will be a parent tote. Any adult that comes to shop with their bookfair kid gets a FREE entry for this tote.
The link posted below allows you at home to have a peek at what should be available in the bookfair.
