We have seen an increase of students with head lice this school year. Please be diligent in checking your child's scalp at home, reporting to the school any instances of active lice, and treating your child's scalp if they have lice.
Some helpful tips are
- Girls should wear their hair in a ponytail or braids. Hairspray also can create barrier that make it more difficult for lice to settle in your child's scalp
- Encourage children to be mindful of head-to-head contact with others, especially during play or other activities
- Your child's stuffed animals and bedding should be washed and dried in high temperature settings
Announcements and Updates
- Please emphasize with your children to use the crosswalk and obey the crossing guards when walking to and from Hilltop. Safety of the students is our top priority.
- Kindergarten Registration is now open! Current preschool students entering kindergarten do not need to register, but should reach out to Mrs. Austin
- School Policy 5516- Personal Electronic Devices (phones and smart watches) Students are encouraged not to bring electronic communication devices to school. If a student chooses to bring an electronic communication device(s) to school, the device(s) shall be turned off by the student and passcode protected to prevent any unauthorized use of the device. The electronic communication device shall remain in the student’s backpack/book bag or locker during the school day when its use is not authorized in accordance with Policy 5516 and this Regulation.
