As we continue through a busy semester, thank to our families for your ongoing support. Together, we are creating meaningful learning experiences and opportunities for our little Bobcats to grow academically, socially, and emotionally. ๐Ÿ“šโญ

โœ… Every school day matters! Regular attendance is important to student success. When students are present each day, they benefit from instruction, collaborative discussions, hands-on learning experiences, and the support needed to continue acadmic growth. For our students in grades 3-5, consistent attendance is especially important as they prepare for upcoming assessments scheduled for October 28th 4th and 5th Math Interim and October 29th 3rd and BIC Math Interim. ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿ’™

A special thank you to everyone who has already supported our Fall Festival through donations, volunteering, and contributions. Your generosity and commitment make events like these possible! ๐Ÿ’› We look forward to your continued support as we work together to make this year's Fall Festival a fun, memorable, and successful experience for all of our Bobcat families. ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ‚

Your partnership makes a difference every day, and we are grateful for all you do to support our students and staff. ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ’›

๐Ÿ’™ Every Student. Every Day. Matters. ๐Ÿ’™

We look forward to seeing our students continue to learn, grow, and thrive throughout the semester! ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿซ

๐Ÿ’™ Attendance Matters, Bobcat Families! ๐Ÿพ

I am committed to helping our little Bobcats succeed every day! ๐ŸŒŸOur attendance rate is 96%, and our goal is 97%. When students are here and on time, they don't miss important learning, classroom experiences, and opportunities to learn with their classmates. ๐ŸŽโœจ

๐Ÿ“š Every day counts. Every minute matters. When students attend school regularly and arrive on time, they are better able to participate in instruction, learn with their classmates, build strong academic skills, and stay connected in their learning. Consistent attendance helps students develop positive habits that contribute to long-term success.

โฐ Being on time is just as important as being present. Arriving late can cause students to miss important instruction and disrupt their learning routine. Starting the day on time helps students feel prepared, confident, and ready to learn.

๐ŸŒŸ Tutoring has begun! If your child has been selected to participate, I encourage regular attendance. Tutoring provides targeted support to strengthen skills, close learning gaps, build confidence, and help our students achieve academic success. Every tutoring session is targeted to meet students' needs, and consistent attendance is key to their academic growth.

๐Ÿค By working together to ensure students attend school every day, arrive on time, and participate in tutoring will help our little bobcats to succeed.

Thank you for your ongoing support and commitment to your child's education. Together, we can reach our attendance goal and ensure that every student has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive. ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ–ค

Last week, our campus attendance rate was 96.42%, placing Cielo Vista Elementary 7th in the district. ๐Ÿ“Š

Unfortunately, our attendance dropped this week, moving us from 5th place to 7th place in the district.

While we experienced a slight setback, we know our Bobcats can bounce back! ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ–ค Let's continue working together to make daily attendance a priority and ensure our students arrive at school on time, ready to learn.

With your continued support, we know our Bobcats can climb back up the rankings! ๐Ÿ†๐ŸŒŸ

๐Ÿฅ”๐ŸŽ‰ Potato Head Attendance Challenge!

Our classrooms are already earning pieces for their Potato Heads! ๐Ÿคฉ Each classroom is working together to complete its Potato Head by demonstrating great attendance.

The first class to complete its Potato Head will be one step closer to celebrating with a Potato Chip Party! ๐Ÿฅ”๐ŸŽŠ

We can't wait to see which classroom finishes FIRST! ๐Ÿ†

๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŽ Weekly Individual Attendance Rewards!

Students who attend school ALL FIVE DAYS of the week will earn a special reward!

๐Ÿ’ค October 19โ€“23: Earn a Pajama Day!

๐Ÿ› October 26โ€“30: Earn 10 minutes of extra recess!

๐ŸŽฎ November 2โ€“6: Earn 15 minutes of Makerspace/Nintendo Switch time!

โฐ๐Ÿ“š Every Minute Matters!

Being at school every day and arriving on time helps our Bobcats build strong learning habits, stay on track academically, and achieve their goals! ๐ŸŒŸ

We understand that illnesses and emergencies happen, and students should stay home when they are sick. Thank you for encouraging regular attendance whenever possible!

๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ–ค Together, we can help our Bobcats PRESS START TO LEVEL UP! ๐ŸŽฎ๐Ÿš€

90% Attendance Rule/What it means for the 2026-2027 school year.

El Paso ISD 90% attendance requirement will be in effect for the 2026-27 school year.

Students must attend at least 90% of the school days or class periods in order to receive course credit or a final grade, as required by Texas law.

For Elementary students, missing more than 17 days during a typical school year may affect whether they automatically can earn credit or a final grade.

In middle and high school, attendance is tracked by individual class periods each semester, so repeatedly missing the same class can become an issue even if a student attends school the rest of the day. In middle school, missing a class more than 8 times in the Fall semester or more than 9 times in spring semester will result in loss of credit. In high school as students are on an A/B schedule, missing a class more than 4 times in a semester will result in loss of credit.

If you have any questions or for further information please contact your campus.

Red Ribbon Week: October 26โ€“30

Next week, we will be celebrating Red Ribbon Week at Cielo Vista Elementary! This year's national theme is "Make A Difference. Be A Hero. Stay Drug Free!" Throughout the week, we will encourage our Bobcats to make healthy choices, stand up to peer pressure, and understand how the decisions they make today can help shape their future.

On Monday, all students will receive a red bracelet as a symbol of their pledge to live drug-free and make healthy choices. Although red ribbons are traditionally worn during Red Ribbon Week, we chose bracelets because they are easier for students to keep on and less likely to get lost. We ask that you please encourage your child to wear their bracelet every day throughout the week as a reminder of their commitment to making safe and healthy choices.

This year, students will also have a special opportunity to create their own theme and design for the 2027 National Red Ribbon Week Campaign! We hope to select student entries to submit to the national contest. Students are welcome to take their designs home and work on them with their families. We encourage you to brainstorm ideas together and help your child create a positive message that could inspire students across the country!

We also encourage families to continue the conversation at home. Talk with your child about making healthy choices, handling peer pressure, saying no to unsafe situations, and identifying trusted adults they can turn to for help. You can even use their red bracelet as a conversation starter by asking, "What does your bracelet remind you to do?"

To learn more about Red Ribbon Week and explore family activities and resources, visit www.redribbon.org.

Thank you for partnering with us to help our Bobcats make healthy choices and build bright, drug-free futures!

๐Ÿ“šโœจ Dear Families,

As children learn to read, they begin developing an important skill called fluency. ๐Ÿ“–๐ŸŒŸ Fluency means reading smoothly, accurately, and with expression. When students become fluent readers, they spend less energy figuring out words and can focus more on understanding what they are reading. ๐Ÿง ๐Ÿ’ก

๐Ÿ”๐Ÿ“š One of the best ways to improve fluency is through repeated reading. Encourage your child to revisit favorite books, poems, or passages. Reading the same text several times helps build confidence and accuracy. ๐Ÿ’ชโญ Younger children enjoy hearing familiar stories over and over, while older students can practice reading aloud to family members. ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘งโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆโค๏ธ

๐ŸŽญ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ While listening to your child read, encourage them to make their voice sound like the characters and pay attention to punctuation marks. โ“ Questions should sound like questions, and โ— exclamation points should show excitement or strong feelings! You can model this by reading aloud and showing how your voice changes throughout the story. ๐ŸŽค๐Ÿ“•

โฐ๐Ÿ’› Just a few minutes of reading aloud each day can make a BIG difference in helping children become stronger, more confident readers! ๐ŸŒŸ๐Ÿ“š

๐Ÿ“–๐Ÿ’• Happy Reading!
