Hello Future 1st Graders!

We are so excited for a brand new school year! We cannot wait to learn new things, be creative, and make so many new friends! Here you will find all of the information you need to know about 1st Grade! We cannot wait to meet you all at "Meet the Teacher" on Monday, August 10th from 8:00-9:00 AM.

***IMPORTANT: If you do not purchase school supplies through the PTA, please bring them to Meet the Teacher on August 10th, so that they may be labeled and ready to go for the first day of school. Thank you for your help with this!***

Summer Bingo!

Hedgcoxe Hounds are ready to start the new school year in first grade! We encourage your child to continue their learning over the summer. Parents, please have your child turn in the Summer Bingo at Meet the Teacher for Hound Bucks!

Library

Mrs. Berry has lots of wonderful book suggestions to read over the summer. Take a look at this reading resource!

Carpool Tags

If you do not have a tag for your child, you must park and come to the front office with your identification. Please remember this process is in place for the safety of your children. Order by Aug. 1 for "Meet the Teacher" night delivery.

Volunteer Sign-Up Form

We hope that you are able to volunteer to lend a helping hand in First Grade or on the campus. We look forward to working as a team in creating awesome memories! More information coming soon about being a lunch volunteer!

Watch Hounds

Watch Hounds is Hedgcoxe Elementary's school-based involvement initiative that invites parents and guardians to volunteer for a variety of tasks throughout the school year to support Hedgcoxe's students, staff, and PTA.

First Week Information

Arrival

Doors open at 7:00AM
Breakfast can be purchased until 7:25AM (on the dot!)

Enter the classrooms at 7:25AM
Curriculum begins at 7:40AM
Arrival after 7:40AM will result in a tardy

Breakfast is served from 7:00-7:25AM. If your child will be eating breakfast you may drop them off on the side of the building next to the gym (Georgetown).

Footwear

Students attend PE a few times a week. On these days please be sure your child is wearing the appropriate footwear for PE. Please check with your child's teacher to see which day they are allowed to wear other types of footwear.

Snack

Students may bring a water bottle and a healthy snack (nothing that requires a spoon). We will eat snack sometime before 10:00AM

Lunch

1st Grade lunch time is from 12:40-1:10PM

1st Grade lunch visitor days are Mondays. You may begin coming to eat with your child on Monday, the week of September 14th.

Instagram

1st grade has an Instagram page and we would like for you to follow us! We are only allowing parents to follow our page. If you have an Instagram page, please send your child's teacher an email with your username so we can identify you after you request access to our private page. The first grade page is called "hedgcoxe2038" and we can't wait for you to see the pictures that we post on our page!
