Principal's Corner
Dear FamiLEE,
Thank you for your continued support of Lee High School. Your involvement is essential to your child’s success.
One of the most important factors in student achievement is regular attendance and arriving to school on time. Every instructional minute matters. We ask for your help in improving attendance and reducing tardiness, as missed time directly impacts learning and academic progress.
March 10th is ACT testing day, an important milestone that can impact college acceptance and scholarship opportunities. Strong attendance and punctuality in the weeks leading up to the ACT are critical to student readiness and success.
We also encourage you to regularly check grades in PowerSchool and check in with your young adult to ensure they are staying current on assignments and monitoring their progress.
Thank you for your support in strengthening work habits, academic focus, and student achievement.
Sincerely,
Kitrise Torain
LHS Principal

New HCS Wireless Communication Device Policy: We want to inform you about an important update to our school policies in response to a new state law. On May 14, 2025, Governor Kay Ivey signed the FOCUS Act (Freeing Our Classrooms of Unnecessary Screens for Safety) into law. This law, which went into effect July 1, 2025, requires public schools across Alabama to limit student use of wireless communication devices during the instructional day to improve focus, safety, and engagement. In compliance with this law, Huntsville City Schools will implement a district-wide Wireless Communication Device (WCD) Policy beginning Fall 2025. Please click here to review the new HCS Wireless Communication Device policy.
