A note from Mr. Lee A note from Mr. Lee

The Last Nine Days!

It's hard to believe there are only nine days left in the 2025-2026 school year.

As we enter these final days, I've been thinking about something that happens every year. When August arrives, we spend a lot of time talking about firsts. First day of school. First locker. First middle school class. First game. First concert. First test.

But what makes this time of year special is that it is filled with lasts.

For our 8th graders, these are the last nine days of middle school. The last walk through the Carter hallways. The last time sitting with friends in the cafeteria. The last time hearing morning announcements as a Carter Cougar.

For our 7th graders, these are the last nine days before becoming the leaders of our building. For our 6th graders, these are the last nine days before moving up and becoming experienced middle school students.

The truth is that we often recognize the importance of firsts while overlooking the significance of lasts. Years from now, students probably won't remember every worksheet, assignment, or quiz. They will remember the people, friendships, experiences, field trips, celebrations, and moments that made them feel connected to Carter.

As a school, we are incredibly proud of what our students have accomplished this year. We challenged ourselves academically, grew as individuals, and continued building a culture centered around being Respectful, showing Individual Accountability, staying Safe, and remaining Engaged.

With nine days remaining, our challenge to students is simple: be present. Enjoy the moments. Thank a teacher. Encourage a friend. Participate in the activities. Take pride in being part of the Carter community.

There is still learning to do, memories to make, and victories to celebrate.

Let's make these last nine days count.
