✝️ Prayer
Loving God,
In this Easter season, we rejoice in the gift of new life.
Help us to live as people of hope,
showing kindness, compassion, and joy in all we do.
As we begin this new term,
we thank You for rest, for family, and for time together.
Help us return with open hearts, ready to learn,
to grow, and to support one another.
Guide our teachers, inspire our students,
and strengthen our community in kindness and faith.
May our school be a place of welcome, joy, and hope for all.
Amen.

WELCOME TO TERM 2
I hope our St Denis families were able to enjoy some special time together over the Easter break. While my family managed a few beach visits, the change in season has also been a welcome one, and I took the opportunity to get out on bike rides and bush walks with my boys. My boys, unsurprisingly, love anything to do with space, whether it’s science fiction (like the book/movie Project Hail Mary, which was rated highly by 4 out of 5 family members) or non-fiction about space exploration, they are equally fascinated and fully invested.
A highlight for us was watching the incredible live footage of astronauts returning safely to Earth after their mission around the Moon. It was a powerful moment to share together, seeing the spacecraft re-enter and splash down, prompting a real sense of awe at the scale of human endeavour and a reminder of the wonder of discovery and new horizons. In many ways, it sat beautifully alongside the Easter season we celebrate, a time of hope, renewal and new life. As we now look ahead to a full and busy Term 2, I am very much looking forward to all that lies ahead for our students and school community.
PARENT/TEACHER INTERVIEWS
Parent/Teacher Interviews will take place tomorrow at school. Thank you to the many parents who have already booked appointments, and to our staff who have prepared thoughtfully to share insights into your child’s progress and learning so far this year.
These meetings provide a valuable opportunity to connect, celebrate each child’s achievements and discuss next steps in their learning journey. We look forward to working in partnership with you to support your child’s continued growth and success.
MOTHER’S DAY BREAKFAST – TICKETED EVENT
We are very much looking forward to celebrating the wonderful mothers and special women in our community at our upcoming Mother’s Day Breakfast. This is always a special occasion on our school calendar, and we sincerely thank our P&F for their support in bringing this event to life.
This will be a ticketed event, with further details regarding ticket purchases and event timings to be shared shortly through the P&F SEESAW channel. We hope many of you will be able to join us for this meaningful celebration.
QCESR
Our school continues to engage in the QCESR process, reflecting on our practices and celebrating the many strengths within our community. This is an important part of our commitment to continuous improvement and providing the best possible learning environment for our students.
We will welcome our School Improvement Advisor, Steve Gibbs, Peer Principal, Ben Will, and CEWA staff on the 5th and 6th of May. During this time, they will meet with staff, the leadership team, students, our Parish Priest Father Anthony, as well as members of our P&F Executive and School Advisory Council.
These conversations and reflections will play an important role in shaping our future direction, supporting the development of our strategic planning over the coming years in alignment with CEWA priorities.
YEAR 6 CAMP
We are also very much looking forward to our upcoming Year 6 Adventure Camp at Ern Halliday. This is always a highlight of the year for our students, providing valuable opportunities to build independence, resilience, teamwork, and lasting memories together. I would like to sincerely thank our Year 6 teachers Leone and Libby for the considerable time, care, and organisation that goes into planning and preparing for this experience. Their commitment ensures our students are well supported to make the most of this special opportunity.
Have a wonderful fortnight, everyone.

Request for Puzzle Donations
We’re excited to launch a new lunchtime puzzle session for students, beginning this term. These sessions will run once a week in the Auslan Room with Ms Sparkes, and all students are warmly welcome to come along, relax, and enjoy some mindful fun.
To help us get started, we’re seeking donations of jigsaw puzzles with 300 pieces or fewer (Preferably 100 – 150 pieces). Smaller puzzles are perfect for lunchtime and allow students to complete them in a relaxed, social setting.
If you have any gently used puzzles at home that are ready for a new life, we’d love to give them a home. Donations can be dropped at the Auslan room or sent in with your child.
Thank you for supporting this new initiative, we can’t wait to see the students puzzling together and having fun!
