Dear Wauwatosa Montessori School Community:

It’s been an exciting first week for everyone at Wauwatosa Montessori School! Our teachers and staff have been engaging our students in community building activities and learning about routines and procedures. Please take a look at the pictures!

Please mark your calendars for Montessori Curriculum Night on Wednesday, September 25th from 3:30-5 p.m. Students and teachers will be sharing an overview of our Montessori math curriculum and presenting Montessori math lessons. This is a great opportunity for parents to learn about the Montessori curriculum and materials, to ask questions, and to see what your children are experiencing in their learning environments!

Our staff engaged in a Playworks professional development opportunity with our Playworks representative last week and we had our Playworks kick off this week with the students! Playworks is a program that we implement, which helps kids stay active and learn valuable skills through play. Our Junior Coaches are Ava Parulski and Patrick Morgan. They’ve been leading games with Children’s House or Lower Elementary students this week. Our game of the month is Paparazzi Tag. Students in Children’s House and Lower Elementary have also been introduced to Color Tag.

We are looking for volunteers to work a Brewer’s game concessions stand! You can sign up here!

Families, please read this policy as well as the calendar webpage on the website calendar webpage that houses the religious and spiritual observance days recognized by the UW System. In short, teachers shall make reasonable efforts to avoid scheduling exams, field trips, or any major class assignment during significant religious holy days. Additionally, students that are absent due to holy day observance shall be excused and be allowed to make up any work missed as a result without penalty.

PTSA meeting

Our first PTSA meeting of the year is Tuesday, September 17th from 7:00-8:30 p.m. in the AP Classroom (Room 30) at school. You can also join us online through a link that will be sent out on Sept 17th. Get informed. Get involved! You can become a PTSA member on Givebacks.

Parent Social Night

All parents and caregivers are cordially invited to Lion’s Tail Brewing Co. (8520 W North Ave, Wauwatosa, WI 53226) on September 29th from 3:00-5:00p.m. Catch up with old friends and welcome new parents to our school!

Room Helpers

Please consider signing up to be a room helper for your child’s class. We are looking for 2-3 volunteers per classroom to help coordinate classroom celebrations, lend a hand in the classroom, and get to know our staff and Montessori families. Restaurant Fundraiser

Wednesday, September 18, 11:00 a.m.-11:00 p.m. This is our first restaurant fundraiser of the year! All you have to do is mention you're there for the fundraiser or use the online code (GPFUND24) for 20% of your order to be donated back to our PTSA.

Volunteers Needed!

October 25 is our annual WMS Trunk or Treat. Students and some parents dress up in costumes and many families decorate their cars for this super fun evening. Please sign up here to decorate your car and hand out treats or help the PTSA plan the event!

If you are able to help with classroom "wishes", please do so. Maybe ask employers to donate as well?
