Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year! We had a great start to the year and are thankful to have met so many of you at our Back to School Night.

We will send home information about our fall fundraiser on Friday, August 8th. We are selling Middle Davids Artisan Candles. This company is based in Franklin, Indiana, and they return a good portion of the profit of the sales to our school. We use these funds for student incentives, classroom supplies, teacher grants, etc. Money must be turned in at the time the orders are placed. There is additional information in the newsletter below.

Occasionally, celebrations will be planned at school. In order to maintain a safe and clean school environment, any treats brought to school must be store-bought, individually wrapped, and an ingredients list must be visible. Please do not send in pizza or treat bags as we need to keep the celebration within our time limitations. In order to preserve important instructional time, please arrange the delivery of any snacks/treats to be before the lunch period. Any treats delivered after the lunch period will be served the following day.

We will have our first early release Wednesday on August 6th. Car riders will be dismissed at 3:20, and bus riders at 3:25.

Our first PTO meeting is August 5th at 6:00 p.m. If you are interested in planning events, communicating with others in our school community, and making GCES a great place for students and staff, please consider coming to this meeting and volunteering for a position or committee.

CPCSC acknowledges and respects that many parents expect their students to keep and use a mobile phone or personal communication device for various reasons. Students must turn the devices off during the school day and keep them stored in their backpacks, their cubbies, or lockers. Use of a personal communication device at CPCSC elementary schools is a violation and should only be used in the case of an emergency.

The last few years we have been offering leadership opportunities for our students. This year we have our Voices Committee and our Student Council. Students in grades 2nd-5th can apply to be on our Voices Committee. This team helps us develop an engaging Warrior Way program while being the voice of our student population. Our Student Council helps in so many ways. They help behind the scenes with our candle fundraiser, lead new student tours, and help organize fundraisers and activities. This is only open to 4th and 5th grade students. Just because a student has participated previously does not mean they will be selected again this year-they must reapply. Students can apply here:

Thanks to generous donations from a local church, we are able to provide weekend food for some of our students who receive free or reduced price meals. Families that are interested in being a part of our Weekend Bag food program should contact Ms. Records: krecords@cpcsc.k12.in.us

Our official Warrior Way Kick-off will be on Friday, August 8th. We encourage students to wear a shirt with their Team Color on it that day to represent their team.

We still need required documents for some of our student files. We are required to have on file for all students a Birth Certificate, Immunization Record, Home Language Survey and a Proof of Residency document. Proof of Residency can be a mortgage or lease statement or a utility bill (gas, electric, sewer, or trash) If you receive a request for these documents from the office or your classroom teacher, please turn those into the main office as soon as possible. We appreciate your help in keeping our records current and up to date!

1. In order to ensure that your student is transported to an alternate address or child care provider, we request that you submit the following information identified below and allow 3-5 business days from the first day of school for processing. A transportation department team member will contact you with status information. Note, our ability to accommodate will be contingent on space available and bus capacity. First priority will be given to students who are being transported to/from their home address.

To improve traffic flow during arrival and dismissal at GCES, we would like families of GCES students to enter school grounds off of Worthsville Road onto Palmore Way (first entrance to CPMS.) Then take your first left before the tennis courts (turn left/west). Continue on the access road to the end of the sidewalk on the north side adjacent to door 8.. Staff members will walk out door 8 to welcome students into the building at 8:50. We will no longer use the front of the building for drop off. Cars should continue on straight to exit the lot.

Clark-Pleasant Early Learning Center is a part of GCES, and their arrival time is 8:45. These families will enter off Sheek Road and line up for drop off in the front of the building,

If students arrive after 9:05 a.m., an adult will need to park and sign their student in at the front office.

Car rider families should enter the same way for afternoon car rider pick up, but stop at the corner that leads to the front drive. A staff member will come out at approximately 3:50 to dismiss students. Students will exit out of door 4. Cars should pull up to the flag pole once dismissal begins.

If your student goes to childcare after school that is not within our GCES boundary, you must register your child for a car rider number as these daycare locations pick up our students in our car rider line. Please stop by the front office to register your child.

If your student attends a daycare that is within our GCES boundary, you will need to complete an "alternate bus stop" form in order for your child to be dropped off at the correct stop. You can access that form here or contact our transportation office at 317-535-7255.
