Week 10
Dear MUMS community,
We hope this message finds you well. The week at MUMS was busy and joy filled! During our early release day our students were able to engage in a multitude of meaningful exploratory opportunities and additionally either watch or participate in a fun assembly!
This week teachers spent a great deal of time preparing report cards for mailing next week. Once you receive your child's report card, If you have questions about our scoring or specific grades, please contact the teacher directly as a first step. With the exception of your child, they are closest to the work.
Lastly, tonight we will host our first dance of the 2025-2026 school year. If your child is attending please review behavior expectations with them, prior to dropping them off. Additionally, please be mindful of our foot traffic both before and after the dance. To those of you who are chaperoning or providing snacks for the concession stand, thank you in advance.
I hope you all have a great weekend!
Best,
Michaela Wisell ~ Principal

From the MYP Coordinator
Greetings MUMS Caregivers!
With Quarter 1 report cards being mailed home next Friday, I thought this would be a good time to review our Approaches to Learning, or ATLs!
Approaches to Learning are a key component of the MYP curriculum. These skills are designed to help students “learn how to learn.” and transfer to “real-world” applications. The ATLs apply across the curriculum to all classes, and provide common language for teachers and students when reflecting on the process of learning. You can see a summary of all ATLs taught at MUMS here, but on the MUMS report card we choose to focus on 4 key ones:
Organization Skills
Affective Skills
Collaboration Skills
Communication Skills
You can read full descriptions here, and teachers use that rubric to evaluate your student with a score of:
C=Consistently, U=Usually, S=Sometimes, or R=Rarely. (You’ll notice these are different from last year, they now match the letters used at MUHS!).
A student’s success with ATLs will help them be successful not only with their learning, but in life outside of and after school! Be sure to look for these on your report cards and chat with your student about them!

Student Absences, Dismissals + Bus Notes
If your student will be absent from school, needs an early dismissal, or will take a different bus, please follow these directions:
- Absence / early dismissal: Call 802-382-1297, the MUMS attendance line, before 8:30am (helpful tip: add this number to your phone now as "MUMS attendance line")
- Early dismissal + bus notes: Students must deliver a caregiver's note to the front office when arriving at school (before TA).
- If taking a bus other than their regular bus: Students must bring a caregiver's note and have it signed by a MUMS Administrative Assistant in the front office to be valid.
Shoreham/Cornwall bus caveats
Please use the "button" above to preview our ACSD bus routes.
Also please note a few caveats that impact students who ride Cornwall or Shoreham buses home.
Cornwall and Shoreham buses do not come to MUMS at pick-up time. Students who ride those buses must take a shuttle from MUMS to MUHS to meet their bus.
Cornwall students use the Bridport bus as their MUMS-MUHS shuttle and get on the Cornwall bus at the High school to ride home.
Shoreham students use the Weybridge bus as their MUMS-MUHS shuttle and get on the Shoreham bus at the High school to ride home.
