Learning & Community Connections ๐พ
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT! Grade 9 Farewell Fundraiser: The Treat Trolley! ๐ญ
Alien In-Line Skating
Our students in Grades K-5 had an out-of-this-world experience with Alien Inline Skating! Throughout the sessions, students built confidence while learning how to skate safely, develop balance, and refine their movement skills. It was incredible to see their perseverance, laughter, and growth on wheels. Beyond the fun, students were introduced to a lifelong activity that promotes fitness, well-being, and active living. A huge thank you to the Alien Inline team for bringing such an engaging and energizing experience to our Huskies! ๐ผโจ
๐ Leprechaun Mischief & Cookie Magic ๐ช
Our school was filled with a little extra magic this month as our Grade 5/6 students took on the role of leprechauns! With creativity and care, they wrote whimsical letters to our kindergarten students, sparking imagination and excitement throughout the halls. The fun continued with festive cookie decorating, where students shared laughter, creativity, and a few sweet treats along the way. It was a wonderful opportunity for our older students to build connections, spread joy, and create memorable experiences with our youngest Huskiesโtrue examples of leadership and community in action! ๐๐ชโจ
From Plate to Photo: A Taste of Photography ๐ท
Real-world learning came to life for our Photography 2 junior high students! A big thank you to Cara Campbell of The Gourmet Bon Vivant, who shared her expertise in food styling and photography. Students gained hands-on insight into how creativity, presentation, and technical skill come together in a real careerโan inspiring experience that brought their learning beyond the classroom and into the world of professional practice. ๐ธโจ
Grade 3 Discovers Dinosaurs! ๐ฆ
The Discovering Dinosaurs program introduced our Grade 3 students to the study of paleontology and the dinosaurs that lived in ancient Alberta. They traveled through the museum virtually and at each stop explored a different dinosaur as well as a curriculum concept, like carnivores and herbivores, predators and prey, or plants and the ancient environment. Many great questions were answered by our guide for the event.
Husky Buddies: Stronger Together ๐ญ
At Heritage Heights, our Buddy Classes are building meaningful connections across grade levels each week. Students come together to share in learning experiences, collaborate on engaging tasks, and enjoy special moments side by side. Whether working on a project, reading together, or simply spending time connecting, these partnerships foster a strong sense of belonging, leadership, and community within our school. Itโs incredible to see our Huskies supporting one another and growing togetherโone connection at a time. ๐พโจ
๐ฆ Shark Tank Pitch for a Purpose! Huskies in Business! ๐ฆ
Innovation was on full display as our junior high Business Entrepreneur classโShark Tankโbrought their learning to life! Students built their own small businesses from the ground up, complete with creative plans, branding, and eye-catching advertising.
The junior high wing was buzzing with energy at our school-wide Business Fair, filled with stretchy new slime, fresh baking that smelled amazing, and really fun school supplies that had everyone stopping to take a look. Students pitched their ideas and went head-to-head to see whose venture would come out on top, with our younger Huskies stepping in as the official judgesโasking questions, exploring booths, and casting their votes!
As always, funds raised support the studentsโ chosen charityโthe Alberta Childrenโs Hospitalโmaking this event not only fun and authentic, but meaningful as well. ๐พ๐ก
Okotoks Oilers Athletes Visit Grade 4! ๐
Our Grade 4 students had an incredible visit from athletes with the Okotoks Oilers! The session kicked off with introductions and quickly turned into an engaging Q&A, where students asked thoughtful questions about the athletesโ journeys and what it takes to succeed both on and off the ice.
Together, students and athletes dove into meaningful conversations around key themes like teamwork, failure, accountability, and goal settingโsharing ideas, personal experiences, and building understanding along the way. The learning was active, reflective, and full of connection, all captured on chart paper as ideas came to life.
We are so grateful to the Oilers athletes for taking time out of their busy schedules to inspire, connect, and make a lasting impact on our students! ๐๐พโจ
