Hansen Jr/Sr HighPrincipal UpdateSeptember 22, 2025

Dear Students, Families, and Community,

As we move through this month together, I want to take a moment to celebrate the amazing things happening at Hansen Jr/Sr High. From students stepping up as leaders, to teachers working hard to create engaging classrooms, to families showing strong support at activities and events — our Husky community continues to shine.

This month, we’ve seen students challenge themselves academically, support one another in and out of the classroom, and represent our school with pride in activities and athletics. These successes remind us that when we come together as a community, we can achieve great things.

Thank you for being such an important part of our school’s journey. Let’s continue to keep the momentum going and make the rest of this semester just as strong!

🥾 Jae Foundation for Seniors 🥾 Jae Foundation for Seniors

Thursday, September 25, 2025

This Thursday, our seniors will be traveling with Mrs. Moreno and Mrs. Carter to Jae’s Place in Twin Falls for their senior boot check. Jae’s Place is more than a retail store as it is home to the Jae Foundation, whose mission is to prevent suicide, raise awareness around mental health, and provide connection, hope, and healing. Through their Senior Boots program, students receive a pair of boots while also engaging in intentional conversations about mental health and the importance of making positive choices.

We are grateful to Artisan Labs and Gen 3 for sponsoring this experience, giving our seniors the chance to hear Jae’s story, take part in meaningful dialogue, and leave with their boots as a reminder of strength and resilience.

😁Leadership Conference 😁Leadership Conference

Tuesday, September 30, 2025

We are thrilled to announce that 24 of our students will be attending a leadership seminar at Twin Falls High School, hosted by Jostens. This incredible event will feature Dr. Phil Campbell, a nationally recognized speaker who inspires students to lead with purpose and create meaningful change.

Students in our leadership class, along with selected class officers, will not only hear Dr. Campbell’s message but will also engage in activities and discussions designed to spark new ideas. They will bring back strategies to positively impact our school’s culture and climate, making Hansen Jr/Sr High an even better place to learn and grow.

This is an amazing opportunity to increase leadership skills, build connections, and empower our students to shape the future of our school in a positive way.

📝 PSAT for Sophomores and Juniors 📝 PSAT for Sophomores and Juniors

Wednesday, October 1, 2025

Next week, our sophomores and juniors will be taking the PSAT. This test is an important step in preparing for college and career opportunities. Not only does it give students valuable practice for the SAT, but strong scores can also open the door to scholarships, recognition programs, and future academic opportunities.

Families play a key role in helping students do their best on test day. Please encourage your student to:

  • Get a good night’s sleep before the test.

  • Eat a healthy breakfast the morning of testing.

  • Bring a fully charged calculator (if allowed) and sharpened pencils.

  • Arrive at school on time and ready to focus.

The PSAT is more than just a test! It’s a chance for our Huskies to show what they know, set goals for the future, and take an important step toward success after high school. Thank you for supporting your student and encouraging them to give their best effort!

🏫 Fall Parent/Teacher Conferences 🏫 Fall Parent/Teacher Conferences

The end of the first quarter (and midterms for semester one) is coming up on Thursday, October 9th. This is an important time for students to make sure all assignments are turned in and to take advantage of FLEX time and Student Success Day for extra support.

Grades will be checked the following week to determine quarter two eligibility for extracurricular participation, so now is the time to finish strong!

Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held on Wednesday, October 15th, from 4:30–8:30 PM. Please be on the lookout over the next couple of weeks as teachers begin scheduling conference times. We encourage every family to attend and partner with us in supporting student success.
