Dear Minshew Families,

Happy New Year and welcome back! We hope you had a joyful and restful holiday season with your loved ones. As we begin this new year, we are excited to continue our journey of learning and growth with your children. Our teachers and staff are heading back to school on Monday to get ready for our Minshew Colts. Here are a few important updates and reminders to help us kick off the second half of the school year:

1. School Resumes: Tuesday, January 7th at 8:00am sharp. Please ensure your child arrives on time, ready to learn.

2. Winter Weather: Remember to dress your child warmly for outdoor recess. Hats, gloves, and boots are essential during these colder months, especially with the latest weather forecast.

3. Upcoming Events:

   • Report Cards go home on Thursday, January 9, 2025.

   • STEAM & Art Night, will be hosted by Minshew PTA on Thursday, January 23, 2025.

   • Big Kahuna Limo Rides will take place on Thursday, January 30, 2025.

   • Colt Celebrations will be held in all classrooms on Friday, January 31, 2025.

4. Healthy Snacks & Supply Check: Thank you for helping your child pack a healthy snack and water bottle every day. This is also a great time to check with your child and replenish any necessary supplies to support their learning.

5. Stay Connected: Don’t forget to follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and via our school website for the latest updates and announcements. Our social media links may be found at the bottom of each school newsletter.

We are thrilled to have your continued partnership as we work together to support your child’s success. Let’s make this semester a fantastic one!

It's time to get excited!! The Big Kahuna Limo Rides are scheduled for Thursday, January 30th. Each student who sold 15+ fundraiser items (or 20+ for siblings), is on the list. We will send permission slips home the first week of January with more details. Stay tuned...

• Attendance is taken at 9:15 am every day.
• Students are tardy if not in the classroom at 8:00 am.
• The BACK entrance is locked at 8:00 am. All visitors or tardy students must enter through the front door.
• Students coming in after 9:15 am are marked absent.
• Absence notes or emails must be sent within 3 days of the absence to the front office at: MinshewOffice@mckinneyisd.net or via the MISD Report An Absence form.
