Our 2025 Monarch Softball Seniors

This year’s seniors—Harper Lastick, Ahalya Nowakowski, Rachel Mills, and Caroline Katzin—have set the tone for what it means to be a Monarch. These incredible athletes bring heart, humor, and hustle to every game, leading by example both on the field and in the classroom. Their dedication to teamwork and their commitment to making softball fun for everyone have left a lasting mark on the program. We’re so proud to celebrate these outstanding leaders and all they’ve contributed to Monarch Softball.

Please join us this Saturday morning at 9:45 am, when we honor them at our Senior Game at Monarch High School Softball Field.

The Varsity girls volleyball team won a decisive 3-set victory over cross-town rival Broomfield last Thursday, with set scores of 25-19, 25-18 and 25-17. The Coyotes were led on offense by Anya Prater (12) who had 8 kills, followed by Kate Shima (11) with 7 kills. Ava Maliawco (12) and Eva Becht (12) added 3 serving aces each, while Maya Singh (11) contributed 20 digs to seal the victory. The Coyotes are now 8-2, which is their best record since 2014. The D team also prevailed over Broomfield, while the JV and C teams fell short.

The volleyball team is heading into a very busy and tough part of their schedule. This week, they take on Silver Creek at home on Tuesday, and then face undefeated Legacy away on Thursday. Over the weekend, they will play 5 matches as part of the Dakota Ridge tournament before heading back home on Tuesday, October 14 to face Niwot. The game on October 14 is the annual Pink Out game to support breast cancer research. Donations will be taken at the gate to benefit JWill Pink Village. It’s a day off school, so come on down to support both the team and JWill Village! Varsity plays at 6:30, C/D at 5:30 and D at 4:30.

There is also a Booster Club tailgate on the 14th so you can get your dinner and watch some great volleyball!
