Swansboro High School

Happy Sunday Pirates,

We had another wonderful week at Swansboro High School. Seniors participated in WorkKeys testing, staff participated in professional development on Wednesday’s early release day, and winter sports are in full swing. This week will be short and sweet as we head into our Thanksgiving holiday with a teacher workday on Wednesday and the holiday on Thursday and Friday.

Last week included basketball wins against Ashley and Lejeune. In wrestling, we celebrated a ladies team win over Lejeune and a men’s team win over South Lenior on Thursday. The JV ladies team placed second on Friday at the Homer Springs Tournament with Mia Ramirez-Padilla and Brooklyn Arvin in first, Ayla Larson in second and Scarlett Verra and Addison Woolford in third. Varsity ladies placed third overall with Alaina Vee, Ryleigh Cline, and Abby Milberry in first, Kelly McCarthy in second Emma Boychuck in third and Kayla McKay in fourth. Men’s varsity placed eighth overall with Sheamus Mercer in second and Levi Vetter in third.

This week in athletics will include track at West Carteret, basketball at White Oak and wrestling hosting Croatan on Tuesday. Wrestling will compete at Pender on Wednesday. Looking ahead a week, we will host a senior assembly on Monday, December 1, 2025, report cards go home on December 2, 2025 and our winter production of A Christmas Carol will be offered the weekend of December 5, 2025.

We have much to be thankful for in our Swansboro community, from talented and respectful students to supportive parents and dedicated teachers and staff members. We hope that you and your families have a blessed Thanksgiving holiday.
