Message from the Principal

This week at Webster we are continuing to focus on all things kindness and respect. The Webster community is working everyday to be safe, be respectful and be responsible. You can discuss this with your student by having your child share how they accomplished each of these goals during the school day.

Quick reminder about safety here at Webster. During arrival and dismissal please be sure to model safe practices by using our crosswalks and not walking in-between the buses when they have pulled up in the circle driveway. Buses have limited visibility and we want to ensure all students and their families are safe each day.

Have an amazing weekend Webster!

Mrs. Ingersoll

NUTRITION SERVICES REMINDER TO FAMILIES - MILK PURCHASES NUTRITION SERVICES REMINDER TO FAMILIES - MILK PURCHASES

Milk is available for purchase at all schools for $0.50 per carton.
Milk is considered an à la carte purchase — and requires available funds in the student's meal account at the time of purchase — in these cases:

  • A second (extra) milk purchased with a meal
  • A single milk purchased without a meal

District policy prohibits charging a la carte items to meal accounts without available funds to cover the purchase.
Students eligible for free or reduced-price meals:
If your student brings a meal from home, they may still purchase milk, but it will be charged at the à la carte price. This is because federal meal pattern rules require at least 3 of the 5 meal components (milk is one) to be taken together, priced as a unit, in order to qualify for the free/reduced benefit. A milk purchase alone does not meet that requirement.

WEAR RED, WHITE, OR BLUE ON SEPTEMBER 17 WEAR RED, WHITE, OR BLUE ON SEPTEMBER 17

On Thursday, September 17th we will be acknowledging Constitution Day. Students will be bringing home a pocket size Constitution and/or Declaration of Independence. These are for your family and do not need to be returned to school. In honor of this day students are encouraged to wear red, white or blue to school.

MEET MS. MORSTAD - WEBSTER'S NEW FIRST GRADE TEACHER MEET MS. MORSTAD - WEBSTER'S NEW FIRST GRADE TEACHER

This is my 17th year teaching for the WUSD, and I am so excited to begin this new chapter as a Webster Wildcat! I began my career with the district as a 4K teacher in a community setting. After three years in 4K, I made the move to Kindergarten at Lincoln. I was fortunate to be part of the staff team that helped transform Lincoln Elementary into Lincoln STEM, where I taught K/1 multi-age and incorporated STEM and project-based learning into our days. I spent 13 wonderful years as a Lincoln Panda, so you’ll be sure to spot a few pandas in my Webster classroom—once a Panda, always a Panda! Like many careers, there comes a time when a change is needed, and that’s how I became a Webster Wildcat! I am incredibly thankful for the staff, students, and families who have welcomed me with such open arms, and I’m excited for all of the opportunities this year will bring.

When I’m not at school, I love being outside! I enjoy swimming, hiking, and taking my golden doodle, Charlotte, for walks. I’m also a plant lover, so you’ll find quite the collection of plants growing in our classroom! At home, I’m a mom to two kids—one is a 2nd grader right here at Webster, and the other has just started her middle school career at RMS. I’m looking forward to a wonderful year of learning, growing, and making memories together!
