Principal's Letter
Dear Parents, Students and Staff,
As we officially "fall back" this month, enjoy that extra bit of rest! The change in season is a perfect reminder to pause, slow down, and reflect on all that we have to be thankful for.
With Thanksgiving approaching, I want to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude for our students, families, and staff who make Greenbriar such a special place to learn and grow. Every day, I am reminded how fortunate we are to have such caring and dedicated individuals - teachers who go above and beyond, families who support and encourage, and students who bring energy, curiosity, and kindness to our hallways.
As we gather with family and friends this season, may we all take time to reflect on the many blessings in our school community and continue to show appreciation for one another.
Our Annual Turkey Bowl is just around the corner! This fun Greenbriar tradition allows our 5th and 6th graders to show their school spirit, teamwork, and sportsmanship before we head off for Thanksgiving Break. We can't wait to see the excitement, laughter, and friendly competition that always fills the field during this beloved event.
Looking ahead to December, our Student Council is organizing the annual Holiday Tree Decorating Contest! Each homeroom will have the opportunity to design and decorate a themed holiday tree, showcasing creativity, collaboration, and a little friendly rivalry. We can't wait to see the amazing ideas our students bring to life as we celebrate the spirit of the season together.
As the year winds down, I want to extend my appreciation once again to everyone who makes Greenbriar the vibrant, caring school it is. Together, we continue to build a community where students feel supported, families feel connected, and staff feel valued.
Wishing all of you a warm, restful, and joy-filled Thanksgiving surrounded by the people and moments that matter most.

West Creek Reservation Naturalist Visits Greenbriar’s 5th Graders
After reading several stories in their new reading series about protecting animal habitats, the 5th grade students enjoyed a visit from a West Creek Reservation naturalist. The Reservation, located in Parma, went through its own process of restoring wetlands to provide a perfect habitat for frogs, salamanders, turtles, and other species. The presentation included photos, fun facts, and several live frogs. It was a very informative and enjoyable way to wrap up Unit 2.
