Spring Sports
Spring Sports are underway. Here are a few pics; we'll definitely add some more in the near future.
Centennial Vaccine Clinic
This provides free immunizations for our students that are eligible (no insurance, medicaid). At this time, the immunizations being provided are for ages 11 and up.
PSS...Yay!
Last week, in preparation for the annual state testing, students faced off team vs. team in the first ever PSSA Jeopardy Challenge! It was a fun way to kickoff the break.
Reading is Fundamental
Put down the phone....pick up a book!
We ask that you please encourage your child to read at home! Not only is reading a great hobby, it helps children to become better learners and helps them focus. It is the single, greatest way your child can help him or herself. Plus, more and more, reading is becoming an expectation for our English classes.

Behind the Lens Film Festival
And yes, Log has some entries!
Celebrate 10 Years of Student Filmmaking Magic at William Tennent’s Behind the Lens Film Festival – April 30!
Get ready to take a look behind the lens and see just what filmmaking can be at the 10th annual Behind the Lens film festival!
Be sure to wear your red carpet best and come out to see some incredible films from students right here at Tennent. The event is hosted by Jason Lee, a Producer for PHL 17 Morning News, and Tony Sadowski, Vice President of Creative at Slice Communications and owner of the marketing strategy, media production, and voiceover company Spec Communications. There are some remarkably talented judges like Brad Herman, Co-founder of SPACES, Inc. & former DreamWorks Animator, Carli Showmaker, a William Tennent Class of 2015 grad and Emmy-nominated videographer based in Philadelphia, John Newman, a William Tennent Class of 2016 graduate who participated in the first Behind The Lens Film Festival, and more judges from all over the industry.
But of course, the night would be nothing without the talented students who submitted their amazing work. Mrs. Dina McCaffery, Media Production teacher & Film Festival founder, says, “There’s something for everybody. From comedies to documentaries, you’ll surely find something you’ll enjoy!"
The event will be held on April 30th in the auditorium. Tickets will be sold for $5 at the door, which open at 6:00 pm for the red carpet and interviews, and films will be shown at 6:30 pm. So come out to William Tennent for a fun-filled night that you won’t want to miss!

Academic Math Class
Our Academic Math students continue to work on skills that support their individual needs and strengthen grade level skills as we near the end of the school year. This week we are wrapping our focus on comparing unit rates, rounding decimals, and solving multi-step equations through vMathLive and IXL. We also continue to use the iReady MyPath function to work on skills that are very specific to each learner. Our students have been putting in consistent work this year and we are excited to see how they perform during the math PSSA testing next week!
