Dear Staff, Parents, Students, and Community Members,
School Board-Mask Update
Yesterday afternoon, DHHS announced that due to lowered rates of COVID transmission and availability of vaccines, they are changing their recommendation regarding masks. After discussing the updated recommendations, the Lebanon School Board decided to move to voluntary mask wearing for staff and students starting Monday, March 14th.
We will be revising our Lebanon School District Reopening School Plan to include the following:
- Voluntary masking for staff and students starting Monday, March 14th
- If a staff member or student has symptoms they should remain home and test for COVID
- If a staff member or student is returning from a COVID positive illness, masks are required to return from the isolation period until the completion of the 11th day from positive identification of COVID which is our current procedure
- When riding on a school or chartered bus, students and staff members must wear masks at all times due to Federal requirements
- We will continue to update the SAU #88 COVID Dashboard on Fridays by 4:00 pm when
school is in session
- The District will provide masks to staff members and students upon request
We will continue to follow DHHS guidance and if the current recommendations change, we will let you know.
Thank you for your continued support as we transition to voluntary masking.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
Thank you,
Dr. Joanne Roberts
